Off-Day Open Thread: Which Orlando Magic Player Combination Do You Most Look Forward to Using in NBA Jam?
Marc Stein of ESPN.com reports that EA has released the rosters for Eastern Conference teams in the new version of the NBA Jam videogame. Vince Carter, Dwight Howard, and Rashard Lewis are the Orlando Magic players available, though the team also boasts two legends in Nick Anderson and Scott Skiles.
Today, our question is simple: which potential combination--remember, NBA Jam is a two-on-two, arcade-style game--of Magic players are you most excited to use in the new game? There are ten possible combinations, and I've listed each in the poll attached to this post.
I don't own a Wii, nor do I intend to buy the game bundled with NBA Elite 11 for my X-Box, so it's unlikely I'll ever actually play the new NBA Jam, which is OK with me because I prefer simulation-style games. But if I do play, my first combination will be Howard and Anderson.
And Stein? It's not cool to use derisive quotation marks around the word "legend" in reference to Anderson, who's among the most beloved and significant players in Magic history.

EA
has stunk at making good basketball games for awhile. And the only reason Madden is tops is because EA cornered the Market from 2k, like spoiled rich brats.
Get out of my House!
I'm still going to buy Madden
EA Tiburon (the makers of Madden) is located in Maitland and employ several hundred people in the 407.
Man I missed this game!!
If you’re a Gen X gamer this has to bring back some memories. I loved the Magic back then but Seikaly and Rice with the Heat were UNSTOPPABLE.

I'm going to go with the SVG school of thought, purposefully misinterpret it, and then apply it to the 2 player team
Rashard/Skiles for the abundance of 3 point shooting. I think I read somewhere that the three pointer was the 2nd most efficient shot (ESPN.COM or something). Who needs a post up presence in a 2 man game anyway?

Can you imagine the dunks Dwight will be able to do in this game????!
You can follow my amazing Tweets on Twitter. Also run the @O_Rena_Chants account.
If they are consistent
Shard should be able to nail full court 3s and Dwight should be able to dunk from half court.
I think its garbage that the Bulls can have 4 players but Nelson doesn't get to be included with our present day players.

I thought the same thing
But, I dont think Jameer is well known to the casual fan outside of Orlando. I could see JJ, just because of his college career, before Jameer. Which 4 Bulls did they include?
I broke down and read Steins "column" or whatever you want to call that waste of server space
I try to stay away from reading anything that man has to write but I wanted to find out which players made it for other teams. I really wish I hadnt now. “Dwight cant foul out and doesnt have to shoot free throws”. I know we are supposed to keep it clean in here but I cant resist: #!#!##!#!*##!!!!**!!!!!!!!!! that guy!
it's true though
Dwight would be the craziest player, whilst someone of Steve Nash’s skills won’t be perceived as popular in an arcade video game
This
Dominating NBA Jam team.
And thank god Dennis Scott isn’t one of the classics. Any word on whether Mike Iuzzolino is one of the mavericks’ classic players?

I would have loved to have 3D from downtown!
Even with his crappy tattoo of his dad. They should have added skinny Shaq and Penny as well (and Armstrong w/pot of coffee boost!)
