The Ryan Anderson Enigma

What do the Magic expect to get, long-term, from Ryan Anderson? What with the injuries and the like, I feel like I don't know who he is as a player, and who they expect him to be. It seems like they'd prefer to hold him out of any trades, so he obviously has some value for them, but I am confused as to what sort of player he'll develop into.

This is NOT a bash-Ryan Anderson post. I honestly know practically nothing about the guy. I just want to know what it is that makes him special when he's this young. Does he have the potential to be an all-star? An energy guy? A rotation player? And, what's his model? I've heard some call him a "Troy Murphy" kind of player. Is that the best example?

Just hoping that someone can educate me a little bit on Ryan, since he and Brandon Bass seem to be oft-debated by Magic fans. Thanks for any insight, and if there's a post that already covered this that I missed, then please refer me to it and I'll go away. I read the "Howard the Dunk" piece on this, but it was a little sparse in answering my questions.

Thanks!
