Can someone comment on Trade Idea?
Ok, I know that people hate the trade scenarios being played over and over, but I still like playing around with it. Please comment on what you think on this trade.
Of course, a trade wouldn't be a trade unless it involves a 4 team trade. The 4 team trade is between Orlando, Denver, Indiana, and Sacramento
Orlando
Gives - VC, Pietrus, Bass, and Gortat (Possibly some Draft Picks as well to help complete the trade)
Receives - Melo, Thompson, and Dunleavy
Summary: Melo would definitely be an upgrade, Thompson would be a great replacement for Gortat that could also play PF better than Gortat I'm sure, and Dunleavy (expiring contract 10.5mil) would be ok and would probably be 2nd to 3rd option at SF, but being 6' 9" would still be ok defensively. Magic would still be a very deep team with the possibility to still go after CP3 next year or the year after.
Denver
Gives - Melo, JR Smith
Receives - Gortat, Granger, and Pietrus
Summary: Granger helps with the loss of Melo by not having much of a drop off, Gortat can be the starting Center which would allow Nene to go back to his PF position. Pietrus would fill the role that JR Smith held.
Indiana
Gives - Granger and Dunleavy
Receives - VC and Bass
Summary: Indiana does have Paul George now, so the loss of Granger would not be as bad as it would have been last year. Indiana, of course, gets the worst of the deal as far as players being swapped. They would not have a large contract anymore with Granger's being the last major sized contract left. They would get a temporary upgrade this year at the SG position with VC and his expiring contract. VC as his age is still an upgrade over Rush. Bass would give them a PF that could have potential to play some good minutes, and who knows what his potential could top out at when given the minutes. Now Indiana would receive a couple draft picks, at least from Orlando.
Sacramento
Gives - Thompson
Receives - JR Smith
Summary: Sacramento is stacked with Big men and they need a good SG. JR Smith would be a very good pick up that can shoot the three ball and fill one of the last real pieces that Sacramento needs.
Money wise it works pretty well. I see at least 3 teams benefiting from it. Indiana could really benefit from the draft picks to build a young and talented team through the draft.
Now the Magic are my team so I am going to list the depth chart for Magic only because I am not going to make this too long of a post.
Orlando Magic Depth Chart after the trade:
PG: Jameer / Duhon / J Williams
SG: JJ / Q Richardson (Would like to see them try to pick up a trade with Houston for C Lee to come back)
SF: Melo / Dunleavy / S Robinson
PF: R Lewis / Anderson / ( Possible Traditional PF: Thompson)
C: Howard / Thompson / Orton
So now that you read this, what do you think? Seem viable or is there something that I did not think of?

Ok
What about changing out Thompson to Indiana and Indiana giving us Foster to have a back up Center. Thompson could be the PF and back up C for Indiana. That would make it alittle more fair.
Oh yeah
Bass would come back to Orlando in that last scenario.
4 team trades don't happen.
My 3 yr old's Teacher: Is he yelling white power?
My Wife: No, he's yelling Dwight Howard.
a 4 team trade just happened last week (rockets/hornets/nets/pacers)
but you would be correct, 4 team deals involving superstars don’t happen
The pacers will not be trading Granger away they are building around him and do not have any intent of trading him so this would never work. As much as i hate to admit it but Otis is not going to trade for Carmelo, i am not a fan of the 4-1 offense as it showed last year to be non productive when a team can guard Howard one on one and Carmelo would not stretch the defense in a 4-1 offensive setting, Carmelo is a mid range shooter and isnt that great of a 3 point shooter, as much as i would rather have Carmelo and get out of this 4-1 offensive setting its simply not going to happen.
It is my personal opinion that the Magic try to focus there attention on getting a power forward like Josh Smith and Marvin Williams for Vc and Bass and cash considerations, (and only reason i included Marvin Williams was to make the trade work by giving the hawks a chance to dump salary as Marvin Williams is over paid and would be a good salary dump for them and still getting a good back up forward in return) a front court of Josh Smith and Howard would not only dominate on the defensive end but also continue to add chemistry as Josh Smith and Howard are good friends since there AAU days.
Atlanta wouldn't trade Smith
At least I don’t think so. However, their front office just gave Joe Johnson 120+ million in an off season where Bosh and LeBron took less money to play together. So maybe their front office is that dumb. But Josh Smith does not fit the vaunted 4-1 offense as he is a horrific shooter.
At least this one doesn't involve trading a player for a player and an exception

Honor is no substitute for victory.
Indiana would get a week of laughs out of this
Give up Granger for an expiring deal, an average forward and some very low draft picks? They would be absolutely insane.
Granger is one of the best SFs in the league. They need to build their team around him, not trade him.
Are you HIGH right now??
Pacers would actually block your GM card and prolly try to get some push to get you fired…
Pacers: Step into my office!
You: Why?
Pacers: Because your f***ing fired!
