Orlando Magic News for August 10th: Schedule Thoughts, Predictions, and a Quentin Richardson Interview
- MAGIC: Denton: Examining the Magic's Schedule
John Denton of OrlandoMagic.com reviews the Orlando Magic's schedule for the coming season.
- Toughest and easiest starts for 2010-11 - CBSSports.com
Royce Young of NBA Facts & Rumors says the Magic will get off to one of the easiest starts in the league this year:
Orlando: The NBA hands a gift to the Magic who get to open a new arena with a batch of home games. It gets tougher for the Magic later down the line, but to start the season, Orlando gets 8 of its first 12 at home, with most of the tough games coming into the new Amway Center. The drawback is a couple back-to-backs but no set is against two contending teams
- NBA Summer Forecast: East standings - ESPN
ESPN's panel of 93--count 'em!--experts weighed in yesterday on where the Eastern Conference teams will finish this season. The Magic, at 56-26, checked in at second; only the Miami Heat, at 61-21, fared better among Eastern teams. Though I will say I wish ESPN either used a smaller panel of experts, or revealed how each panelist voted, so I better understood the opinions of the analysts whose work I respect most.
- SLAM ONLINE | " Catching Up With QRich
Quentin Richardson, the newest member of the Magic, discusses his basketball camp, endorsing Brand Jordan, and acting in this interview with SLAM. One question deals with the Magic. It's worth a read, especially if you have fond memories of Richardson's early years in the league, as I do.

No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
to start the season, Orlando gets 8 of its first 12 at home, with most of the tough games coming into the new Amway Center.
Still doesn’t compare to last season when the lakers opened up with 17 of its first 20 games in the Staples Center. It all balances out in the end, I suppose.

Glad to hear that "Also, Jameer [Nelson], he has a thing out in Philly..."
my heart was pondering before in case he was traded to the Hornets who would organise this players camp!
If 8 of the first 12 at home is a gift…then what do you call 22 of the first 34 games at home (ie. the Lakers schedule to start the 2009-2010 season)?
"Where do you go from here, Dion?" "I go to Toronto."
Spreading that Calgary Flames, Montreal Expos, The U, and Orlando Magic love.
Yes, but the timing can make a psychological difference. There is a definite home court advantage, and there is also a psychological advantage to having a superior record. Combine those two together, and having a long home stretch to open the season means you’re more likely to have a winning record, which is likely to carry on through the year. I’m dubious as to how strong the correlation is, but I don’t doubt that there is some correlation.
Honor is no substitute for victory.
