Today's Orlando Magic Summer-League Game: vs. New Jersey Nets
Note: this post initially appeared in SBNation.com's Orlando Pro Summer League Day Three StoryStream.
Game 3: Nets (1-1) at Magic (0-2), 5 PM - Orlando hasn't really done anything right this week, and the Nets have arguably the league's top player in Terrence Williams, so this one might get ugly. Magic summer-league coach Patrick Ewing wants center Daniel Orton, just 1-of-14 from the floor in the first two games, to assert himself offensively by demanding the ball. And as poorly as he's played, the Magic have nothing to lose but games, really, but giving him the ball. They need interior offense, because their wing players haven't shown they can shoot from the outside. Third overall draft pick Derrick Favors of New Jersey should roll in this one, provided that his teammates manage to get him the ball.

Gonna try and catch a lot of this one
I just want something to laugh at, and Daniel Orton should do the trick.

The Magic Summer League team
has not been particularly compelling this year. Too bad. Neither draft pick has done a whole lot to rave about and [so far] there don’t seem to be any hidden gems among the rest of the team.
The other squads are interesting. Stephenson, T.Will, etc.

Just started watchin' but seems like Joe Crawford exploded today.

I decided to watch on NBATV. Um, Was Marcin this bad (as Orton) as a rookie?
I’m trying to find some hope for optimism here…LOL. I know he’s going to take time to develop but Orton doesn’t look anything close to an NBA player here.
Paul Davis missed about three dunks. WTF? He's a 6-11 guy.

Right now SVG @ "DWtS" seems more possible than Ewing coaching in the NBA

Are you kidding? SVG would rock Dancing with the Stars
In fact, he would probably start drawing up and screaming the choreography at his designated dancer. It would be glorious.

Well that’s my point, on the other hand ain’t nothing glorious about a 3-0 even in the summer league at Amway. But to be more serious tonight was a good game. Even if that Davis guy missed all those dunks he helped the team a lot in the 4rth. Ewing should ride Crawford a little more but he did play the 2nd more minutes behind Stinson. They sure had a chance to win in the end but blew it. I don’t even mention Orton. Still patient about him.

Ugh, 4 pts, 0 rbds, 1 Block for Orton in 17 minutes
Um . . . I know this is summer league and all, but shouldn’t Orton being doing a little better? He’s obviously a project, but a standard project at least has decent materials to start work with.
