So what's happening with Stanley Robinson?

I'd just like to find out. With the signing of Quentin Richardson, we have two SFs that are undersized considering the height and length of the small forwards of our East rivals (you can include Artest if you're talking about elite NBA teams).

I don't expect Richardson to be lock down D, he's not gonna be pourous I know but I see Pietrus more as a spot up 3 shooter than as a bench player designed to defend top players.

Star-divide

Following OPP throughout the playoffs I know scoring was our problem against Boston, but I reckon one of the other issues was that a fully fit Paul Pierce lit us up every single night.

Though I'd just like to point out that I don't think Stanley Robinson is THE solution - but he could be an option. So what's the news with him being signed?

p.s. interesting (though somewhat obvious) fact that 59th or 60th draft picks rarely make it. From 50 to 58 though I believe we've seen a few diamonds in the rough (Gortat, Ginobili) http://www.hoopsworld.com/Story.asp?story_id=16722

Yea i agree

judging by his stats in the summer league he doesn’t look like hes ready to play on an elite team like the Magic

Well, statistically speaking...

If stats alone are the tell-all then Daniel Orten isn’t ready to play for the Magic either. But we know he’s more than states. Figure the same goes for Stanley the Manley.

Statistically Orton cant play for a YMCA rec league

I probably know Judo! How many of you can make the same boast?

But the Magic are stuck with Orton.

Also, there’s a pretty huge difference in terms of presumable potential between a guy who played 4 college seasons and a guy who kind of played one.

I call him LeBron Jim for short.

I'd like to think of it in more positive terms than "stuck"

“committed to developing”?

Honor is no substitute for victory.

I really like Robinson

For his price, we’re not going to get better athleticism and defensive tools on the open market as a 5th wing guy. Otis should sign him, then send him down to the D-league.

Otis’ blind spot regarding the D-league is really starting to hurt our player development, I think.

We'll have a new affiliate this year

Instead of the Reno Bighorns, the Magic will be affiliated with the New Mexico Thunderbirds, which also switches our partner from Sacramento to New Orleans.

I think the only player we’ve sent to the D-League is Gortat. Bass has also spent time in the D-League, as had Barnes and Dad. That actually had us tied at the start of last season (along with Toronto, Minnesota, Houston, and Cleveland) for most former D-League players on a roster.

Honor is no substitute for victory.

Even Gortat

Only spent five games in the D-league.

I’d like to see Robinson stay down there for a bit longer than that.

Inclined to agree here.

Please don't simply ignore the stats when making your case
