Courtney Lee sighting...

Ran into Courtney twice in the last 2 weeks, talked with him on Sunday, said he misses the Magic and "wishes he would be traded back." Would anyone not want to redo (or undo) that trade at this point? Any chance Otis explores bringing him back? Obviously the Nets need a lot of help, and we have some assets that can and will be moved around, I'm hoping for a reunion, he's a cool cat.

Nah

Lee wasn’t really good this year, either. Lee’s entire season was like Vince’s January. I don’t see anything on their roster that can help us. they likely won’t trade Devin, since they didn’t get the top pick, and I highly doubt they trade Lopez. Sure, we could help them, but they can’t help us.

Taking on Kris Humphries (and I think Keyon Dolling too, but one site says he is only 500k guaranteed) will give NJ some wanted cap space this summer. They may even want to lose Yi for cap space, and because the FA is PF-rich. And the Turk TPE fits all of them, but I dont think many Magic players are wanted by NJ, except for possibly Bass who fits in a 1for1 trade in conjunction with the TPE on CLee. NJ would also prolly like Magic’s picks/future picks. Thats some way I could see it happening right now.
But overall, I think NJ will have to be late in the summer with most of the new roster before they know or see themselves possibly trading C Lee.
And I also think they like C Lee and prolly wont trade him no matter what with that rookie scale contract. But we never know, they may be desperate for the extra cap space from Humphries/Dooling/Yi, or have signed a wing player over the summer and have less need for CLee (JoeJ, Wade, Gay, LBJ).

I like Lee

He’s a good kid and he’s got some game. But until Carter leaves, there’s no place for him on Orlando. Once Carter leaves, depending on who we start at SG, there might be a way to bring him back as a second string guard. I don’t think he’s got the game to start unless we’ve got four genuine scorers around him.

Come on Lee..

You just have to focus in getting better than finding your own team. You’ve been a total mess in Jersey the past season. I don’t even know what’s going to be his role in Magic if the freaking deal happens.. one more thing.. JJ……. -coming from a Nets and Magic fan.. :)

we don't light the stars, we simply fade with them..

Lets trade Carter back for Lee

Yeah, I know.. Can’t happen, but be nice though..

I liked Lee

but because we have JJ, Lee for Anderson was a good trade for this team. Lee isn’t going to be much better than JJ, so unless the NBA blows up their “trades must be of equal salary” in which I would welcome a Carter for Lee swap, I don’t see how we can get him back here.

Technically, it's possible because New Jersey has cap room to absorb Vince's contract

Of course, it won’t happen unless the new owner is desperate (and an idiot) for “superstars” if NJ is unsuccessful in free agency.

Not New Jersey, but maybe someone

NJ is on the rise, they would never take VC. Look at NY. They took McGrady’s bloated contract last year because it expired at the end of the season and now they have the cap room to pay a max contract.

The only chance Orlando has to shed Vince is if someone is in the same situation this year, looking to clear cap space for the following season. But I don’t think Otis will make that move unless he can land a big like Wade or Bosh, because if he does nothing, he can opt out of Vince’s deal after next season, regardless.

That would allow him to go after Carmelo Anthony or Kevin Durant (although OKC could match). The pickings this off-season are much better, so I expect him to try.

Otis still cant get any real cap space with VC off the books. Its in two seasons that, if the Magic play the contracts right, they should be able to make a max contract.

VC is still a big name and has an expiring contract

it’s not unreasonable for them to take Vince outright.. He was a fan favorite in Jersey

Lee is locked in

Also, NJ only has 22 million dollars committed next year (and can opt out of Dooling’s last year and take it down to 18.5M compared to Orlando’s 79M).

A lot of players did much better in Orlando than in other towns (Lee, Hedo, Darko).

Vince has been the only exception I can remember.

Ironic isn’t it. He’s the only guy who playing with a force like Dwight Howard did not make him better.

Vince is also at an age where most shooting guards decline significantly

Who knows? Maybe Vince would have been a 12 point, 29% shooter if he had stayed in NJ last year.

Yes, the Magic traded a guy who played well and has yet to reach his prime

Hedo and Vince are old and degressing.. All I know is Ryan Anderson had better help us next year. We lost our best perimeter defender for a guy that chokes in the post playoffs and a guy that warms the bench.. urgh

Yes, Pietrus is

the job he did on Kobe and Lebron last season was pretty darn masterful, in my book. In no way, shape or form were they shutouts, but the effort and skill it takes to not foul out in 5 mins against those offensive studs was quite a feat. Have you counted the number of head fakes and shoulder shakes Kobe does a game?! Couple that with the offensive boost MP gave us from behind the arch, (and even threw down a nasty slam or two), and that was precisely the moment Pieturs went from being just another guy who used to play in Golden State, to a solid backup or short-term starter for the Magic in my eyes.
