So . . .
As long as we don’t play in January while scoring less than 80 points while also allowing over 100 points while keeping the scoring margin between 1 and 5 points while playing on Friday that happens to be an Odd day, we should be good statistically speaking?

By the way, thanks for taking the time doing the breakdown
I eat this sort of stuff up.

Nice detective work!
The sad thing about those Thursday and Friday games were that a lot of them were nationally televised. Doubt there’s any correlation though.

(So lame, but I'll roll with it!)

Those scoring #s are a little scary considering the matchup with the Bobcats and that team’s D.

Thanks for the props, guys
Some conclusions I came to…
The Magic have not played many close games this season, and when they do, their record is not that good (6-7 when the final margin is 5 points or less); also, when they score fewer than 100 points (17-18) or allow more than 100 points (12-13), their record isn’t that good, either.
In the playoffs, the games figure to be closer and not as high-scoring, so hopefully the Magic can hold teams to under 100 points, because their track record this season when they do (47-10) is really good.
I had a lot of fun doing this post; to me, it was interesting to see what their record was in so many different situations.

You say they weren't in a lot of close games, but I wonder how many of those double-digit victories were close games in the 4th quarter...
I know there were quite a few games that we won that meet that criteria, and there were also quite a few games we won where we were down 10+ in the 2nd half, and vice versa, lost where we were up 10+ in the 2nd half. I have no idea how to figure those stats out, but I’m really curious to see how we did with big leads or deficits.
NBA Championship or bust in '09-10!!!! GO MAGIC!!!!
Sure, that's a valid point
As far as I know, the only way to find out would be to check the play-by-play of all 82 Magic games this season (available on the Magic’s official website).
I’m not quite that ambitious, though.

I started working on it, but it's going to take a week or so before I can compile everything if it takes as long as the first few games took.
I’ll post it here when it’s available. Here are a few stats I’ve been able to compile already:
Largest Margin of Victory: 32 – 32 – 21
Largest Margin of Defeat: 28 – 11 – 28
(All Games – Home – Away)
Average Margin in Wins (Overall / Home / Away)
13.81 / 15.26 / 11.84
Average Margin in Losses (Overall / Home / Away)
-8.83 / -6.29 / -9.94
NBA Championship or bust in '09-10!!!! GO MAGIC!!!!
who did we lose 28 to?
I know there was that depressing one against the Heat, I think December or January. So how about the other one?

59-23
I’m pretty sure that if we didn’t have that skid in January we would caught up to Cleveland in the standings.
Orlando Magic NBA Champions 2010
That's tough to judge considering the Cavs had a 7 game lead before benching LeBron.
NBA Championship or bust in '09-10!!!! GO MAGIC!!!!
I clearly remembered how disappointed I was when we lost to the Hawks
Probably because it didn’t happen too much in March-April.
