I understand this won't be the last game played. However, with the playoffs looming, it's hard to predict when it will be.
The O'Rena as most Orlando fans and residents still refer to it as, is a special place. By no means is it an elite arena, have special ammenities or stand out in any significant way. However it's home to a lot of special memories.
My dad growing up would take me and my brother to 4 games a piece a year. We got to pick. We didn't care who the best teams were, but we would always pick the biggest and best games. I have been to a handful of playoff games there. Until about 2000, I had never seen them lose at home (I believe they lost to the Bucks that year). Regardless, it was some of the few times growing up I got to spend 'alone' time with my dad.
Memories from the Valentines day game that went into Triple OT against the Knicks to back to School Jams (Quad City DJs), Predator Games, MIracles Games and countless of concerts (including my first ever of Bush). All of us share in many fond memories at the O'Rena it will be sad to see it go (but who isn't excited about the new O'rena).
What are some of your favorite memories?
