What is wrong with the ESPN analysts? and thoughts on a ECF rematch
Tim Legler made his "Final Four" picks during the halftime of the Det vs Bos game. He picked the Lakers vs Dallas and Cleveland vs Boston. His reason for picking the Celtics? He said "I haven't seen from Atlanta and Orlando that they can perform at the brighest stage just yet." lol but he picked the Cavs to make it to the Finals...What's Lebron's series record in the ECF? 1-2? Zero Finals wins? Is it just me or does Legler not make any sense? It was the Magic who showed up and performed on the bright stage last year in the playoffs not the Cavs. Dwight was the Superstar carrying his team by the "Chosen One". Is anyone else sick of ESPN and their analysts? Legler's reason for overlooking the Celtics made absolutely no sense. I'd like to know what kind of credentials they require of their analysts. Do you just have to play in the NBA? Who are they going to hire next? Anthony Mason? Seriously I'm no expert and I may be a Magic fan but from the last two games that the Magic and Cavs have played, the Magic controlled both games for the most part. Cleveland had to rally at home to beat the Magic and they lost in Orlando. I honestly think Orlando has an excellent chance of knocking off the Cavs again. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Jameer and the bench are the difference makers in the series. It won't be Rashard, Vince or Dwight, I think Jamison and Shaq will play them evenly with Dwight having a slight advantage. I think Cleveland's weak link is the PG position, Mo has got to get shut down and the their bench is not better than the Magic bench. Cleveland's wildcard will be it's homecourt advantage and Lebron Stockton. If he's getting 10-15 assists a game then they'll be tought to beat so I think the Magic have to force Lebron to do everything just like last year. Any thoughts? Anyone want to vent and make fun of ESPN analysts like Legler and Jon? :)

No, It's nothing new
I found nothing surprising and you’re right, the Magic is constantly treated as the underdog that people claim, “They have no chance.” Interestingly enough that when it’s ESPN and NBA on ABC, it’s all about Lakers vs. Cavs. Honestly, I don’t think it’s compelling although there’s a footnote for some cases, but it doesn’t make a fantastic finals matchup. The Lakers vs. Magic matchup might have something in store because you have a veteran team and a young team and it is comparsion between the two competing against each other in the argument of who wants this more. Plain and simple. Hope this matchup happens again this year.
I don't watch ESPN
They never have any idea about any of the sports they cover, from basketball to football to, erm, whatever else they show.
They’re interested in spin and hype and ratings, not accuracy, and pick their analysts and presenters accordingly.
Recall that the E in ESPN stands for "Entertainment"
"I've had people say, 'I don't need to check the [player statistics]. I've seen it with my eyes.' Well, I would also say your eyes lie to you sometimes, and some of the guys you may really like and think are really doing things, when you get deeper into it, aren't or vice versa." ~Stan Van Gundy
What is wrong with the ESPN analysts?
What ISN’T wrong with ESPN analysts? I mean, this is ESPN you’re talking about. If it was somebody important like Brian Schmitz, or Ben/Eddy, or even Tim Potvak, you might have a point. But this is ESPN and Tim Legler you’re talking about.
No mistakes in the tango, Donna. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....
I'm not sure Donald Sterling is a human being. He had to have been manufactured by someone, possibly David Stern, so that one team could solely just make profit for the NBA while doing nothing good for themselves. -- Aykis 16
He's not Tim Legler. That was my point.

(And I don't read the OS enough to know the full dynamics of the paper's relationship with fans and the team. I have enough problems tracking that with the Bee and the Kings. LOL)

Actually I wanted to make a comment about their acquisitions
Nate Robinson, yeah provides them with more athletic defenders down low, but I like it how SI put it.. it’s more Stephon Marbury than PJ Brown.
I didn’t really get Michael Finley.. they already have enough old people there as it is, as well as scorers…it baffles me
I agree, their bench was already inconsistent and then they go out and get nate robinson. Marquis Daniels although he’s been injured I don’t see him being a difference maker. Finley can play but he’s not going to get them over the hump. The only way they get out of the second round is if KG is the KG of 2 years ago.

I used to get really annoyed with these analysts but not anymore.
I just consider that I’ve followed the Magic closely and watched the team’s progression into a very positive direction. Their game is really coming around, but in my opinion, they still have a lot of work to do. On the other hand, the analysts have to keep up with so many other teams—and let’s face it, the Magic have put some real stinkers on display in their nationally televised games.
But regardless of what they say, I think the Magic have the best chance of coming out of the East. I truly believe that when/if the time comes, the Magic’s defense will prove to be better than the Cavaliers’ offense.
That’s a good point, besides wins against the cavs and lakers on national tv the Magic haven’t really shined lol.

Who the Hell is Legler?
Besides that lucky day in the All-Star weekend what exactly did Timmy accomplish? Him and Barry are the worst cause not only do they say the stupidest reasons for thier picks ever, but then they flipp flop everytime we make them look bad. Kenny Smith is a Punk too, he has like a personal vandetta against us.
And everyone always says IF boston gets healthy. U DONT PLAY THE GAME WITH IFS PEOPLE! (Ask us we know; i.e. Grant Hill) So untill the Orlando is the Team to Beat because they beat everyone else this year and last year.
Not a big fan of Orlando but i don’t know how anyone can say with a straight face that Boston will beat you guys in a 7 game series. And for a Cavs-Celtics ECF to even be possible Boston would have to get ahead of Atlanta, and i don’t see that happening either.
