Jameer Nelson's status for the Orlando Magic's game against the Atlanta Hawks tomorrow night is in question. Officially, the team lists him as day-to-day with a sprained left ankle, suffered late in Friday night's game against the New Jersey Nets. Unofficially? Let's go to Nelson himself for that. Via his Twitter account early this afternoon:
What's going on Tweeple. Just got a lite workout in. Ankle is getting better.
The Magic didn't hold an official practice today, so we won't hear anything from coach Stan Van Gundy or his players until after tomorrow's shootaround.
Orlando did alright without Nelson last night, doing just enough to defeat the Charlotte Bobcats, 91-88, on the road. Chris Duhon and Jason Williams, Nelson's backups, combined for 11 assists and no turnovers in that game, though their 3-of-10 shooting certainly needs to improve. But you get the sense that the Magic will need at least one member of its starting backcourt--Vince Carter is also day-to-day after taking a tumble last night--available for Monday's game, given the Hawks' talent level.
