NBA Wednesday Night Open Thread

Photo

The Orlando Magic are among the four NBA teams who have tonight off. If you'd like to talk about the 13 games on the schedule tonight, though, here's the place for it. ESPN's games--featuring the Chicago Bulls at the Oklahoma City Thunder at 8 PM, followed by the Portland Trail Blazers visiting the L.A. Clippers at 10:30 PM--should be a lot of fun. But even if you're just watching, I don't know, the Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs on League Pass, or whatever, you can talk about that, too.

Have at it. I'll be running some stats for tomorrow morning's installment in the Preseason Lookback series.

Well, there's that Portland-Clippers matchup we were talking about in the other thread.

Shame I’m going to miss it.

(Hm… I’m just about never home between 7:30 and 10, am I? It’s a good thing I live on the West Coast and follow an East Coast team… even so, I suspect I’m going to be catching just the first half of a lot of games this year.)

You mess with the 4-out/1-in, you get the Horns.

Yeah, same here.

It’s nice to catch the Magic at 4:00 and then get on with the rest of my evening after the game.

The 76ers actually played with them at their level for 2 quarters,

and then basically quit.

Who the hell is this Evan Dunlap guy!!!

If you were a man I would punch you, right in the mouth.

Evan is a well know and noted NBA analyst

He is a student of statististics on the game, but is also famous for his obsevational powers. All in all, he is the most noted student of the game and the Magic since Ben Q. Rock, who, unfortunately suffered duel pulled hamsprings and and a minor MCL injury that have taken him out of the rotation for now.

"Teams are making adjustments to us, it’s not the other way around," Smith said. "Right after (the Heat) signed LeBron and Bosh, they went out and signed eight centers. So I’m not overly concerned."

I'll tell ya about the Magic It'll free your soul but it's like trying to tell a stranger 'bout rock n roll

His hamstrings dueled?

So Evan is Ben’s Fight Club ego, and for the time being Ben’s hamstring has lost the duel with Evan’s hamstring?

If you were a man I would punch you, right in the mouth.

It was not a pretty site

hamstrings pummeling each other all over the website.

I'll be watching Bulls at OK City

Bulls won’t have Boozer back until around December 1st, but Taj Gibson is a capable starter in Boozer’s place.

That team (heat) is still terrible,

If any half good team (76ers are not there yet), can do what the 6’ers did for the first two quarters, consistently. They will beat the Cavs.

But the reasoning

Jvg said we don’t have the “wing play” to beat the heat or celtics. Is that what it comes down to then? Someone help me out with this.

I guess Miami gets to give Lebron and Wade one basketball each.

I guess he doesn’t care that Pietrus, and Richardson are a above average perimeter defenders.

Boston plays great team defense, and LA (Artest/Barnes), and Orlando (Richardson/Pietrus) have multiple people who can defend on the perimeter.

Yeah, but I'm a little disappointed.

Griffin had a great game, Gordon had a great game, and the Clippers still lost. Maybe they’re not quite a playoff team yet.

SMH at these people who make up points to counter ideas they don't like.

No one ever said he was better than jordan, not even bass himself. Hell no one even said he was better than Lewis.

You do everything possible to detract from discourse then act pompous and arrogant about it. Apparently you’re not allowed to speak negatively about someone so I’ll just say how do you think you are imagined as a real person via your online persona?
