The Orlando Magic head to the FedExForum to take on the surprising Memphis Grizzlies, who have won their last 10 games there. Memphis has a dynamic offense led by power forward Zach Randolph, who's doing his usual 20-point, 10-rebound thing much more efficiently this season; and Rudy Gay, whose athleticism and finishing ability have helped him shoot 47% from the field and average 5.6 foul shots per game. Remarkably, the Grizzlies field the league's 8th-most efficient offense despite only having two reliable three-point shooting threats. Memphis leads the league by a wide margin in offensive rebounding rate, grabbing nearly one-third of its own missed shots. Limiting second-chance opportunities against the Grizzlies is key to stopping their offense.

This game could be a tough one for Orlando, which has struggled against the league's more physical frontcourt presences this season. And although the Grizzlies aren't a great defensive team, center Marc Gasol proved capable of defending Orlando's Dwight Howard one-on-one in his two meetings with Howard last year.

I wouldn't underestimate Conley
Especially the way PGs have been going off on us. But I agree that it’s gonna come down to how Rashard handles Zach. Gasol’s not a bad defender either. It’s gonna be a tough one.

Meer’s and Conley’s stats are close. I just think Meer is the better player and he appears to have gotten his legs back.
Overall I agree though, we have gotten roasted by opposing PG’s

Actually, the trends don't favor the Magic
…considering the point spread is only 1 1/2 points in the Magic’s favor, if Memphis beats the spread, it’s highly likely that Memphis will win the game, and the recent ATS trends are heavily in favor of the Grizzlies.
Like I said the other day though, past performance doesn’t guarantee future results.
Hopefully, the Magic can buck the trends tonight.

Could be a tricky game.
Memphis has played well, and they have the talent to outpace the Magic (even if the record suggests otherwise). Zac Randolph has been the suprise of the season and I could see him give Dwight problems.
Bottom Line: Dont let Dwight get frustrated.
Im gonna be flicking between this and Chuck and the Heat/Cavs game for the first half. Gotta see lebron/D-wade and my wifey Kristin is on Chuck tonight, so the Magic may have to talk a backseat for an early go. :P

What annoys me is..
Carter holds and holds the ball.. Nobody moves..Carter takes 4 steps and takes an off balance shot with 3 defenders in him. I mean the rest of the magic don’t bother moving because they know Carter is going to take the shot… God that is ugly. dude…chris webber was my favorite player…people trash him all the time…i accept the fact he was a choker…don’t get upset if people diss VC. right now, the guy hasn’t done anything to warrant praise. i obviously don’t want him to fail…but i also don’t want them drawing plays for his ass to shoot a 3 when we are down by 2 and he’s in a shooting slump.

Think about the logistics of the position LeBron and Kobe play.
They handle the ball all the time. Why? Because one is a forward and one is a guard. Dwight is a center, so he can’t just go ahead and bring the ball up the court on each possession.

The Magic proved last season they can win on the road in the playoffs
…if they don’t have homecourt advantage.
If the Magic can hit their stride before the playoffs, I’m not worried if they won’t have home court advantage in the later rounds.

Also, not trying to be a downer here . . .
But what the Magic proved last year in the playoffs has little relevance to this year as they are obviously 2 completely different teams.

… I’ll be pretty confident going into the playoffs.
Hopefully a win on Thursday by the Magic over Boston will put everyone in a better mood.

Memphis is a tough team at the Forum too.
I think some are forgetting this for whatever reason because of the dissatisfaction with the Magic.

If the Magic had a power forward willing to box out and go in for contested boards, then maybe Zach Randolph wouldn’t have looked like Wilt Chamberlain…. Both starting Magic forwards combined for 10 boards. How do you skip past that and shift the blame straight to Vince? Matt Barnes affected some plays very, very positively with his hustle but he never shifted over to help Rashard box out Zach – which is made all the worse with ‘Shard playing like a 6-footer, not the almost 7-footer that he is. If Jameer Nelson didn’t rack up 4 stupid fouls in 25 minutes then maybe Mike Conley wouldn’t have had a strangely large influence on the outcome of the game. Jameer had 10 times as many fouls and turnovers combined, as he did assists.
Yes, Vince missed a couple of shots late – but you know what, the game was over by then. He made one really poor decision in this game – taking that three when a two was needed… but if he made it, there’d be countless posts here about how clutch he is. Man, talk about making a scapegoat out of a guy… I know he hasn’t played up to his normal standards over the last few weeks (far from it, granted), but he’s not the only one.

look at the other contenders: boston has KG back and is barely beating bad teams at home. cleveland is just eeking out wins only b/c lebron apparently is some kind of ancient deity. la looks pretty weak now too, compared to expectations. and good grief, look at the spurs right now.
