7. Vince Carter, Magic. Carter has been a massive disappointment in Orlando, and truth be told the shine was already completely off before New Jersey sent him south in June. Carter is due $17 million in 2010-11, and $4 million in 2011-12 if he's waived after the '10-11 season. (Got that?) While the commitment isn't troubling in terms of length, the size of next season's salary is a bit much to take, even for clubs looking to sit out the 2010 bonanza. The market for Carter at that pay rate is ridiculously small.

Tom Ziller of NBA FanHouse takes a look at the most difficult players to trade in the NBA this year. Rashard Lewis is also listed.

His description of Rashard's contract was hilarious.

For Orlando to trade either player they are going to have to take a bad contract back?

Look

Rashard Lewis and his $20 mill per year contract is not a “Holy God That’s Insane” contract. Wally Z and his $14 Mill per year to sit on the Cavs bench as the Magic blasted them in the ECF is a “Holy God That’s Insane” contract. Rashard avg 18.3 PPG on 49% FG & 49% 3-pt. If you’re going to TRY and discredit someone for a huge contract it HAS to be in the event that player doesn’t perform. Clearly, Rashard Lewis was the 2nd best Orlando Magic player in the post season last year and Orl doesn’t reach the Finals without his sharp-shooting so his contract has already proven its value, especially within a market of overpaid players.

VC has not been a “Massive Dissapontment”. This kinda bothers me because Jameer & Rashard (and Barnes 20% from 3-pt for much of the first half of the season as well as other players not performing to their ability) have been underperforming all the while VC has been underperforming yet VC is the ONLY one who has been crushed by the media other than local media. New team, new system & new role (first it was a lead role now it’s more a side-kick role with Dwight being the focal point on offense) but Jameer & Rashard get slack becasue they missed games and Barnes gets slack becasue it’s a new team? VC is still the best clutch performer the Magic have had in the past 4-5 years and even with his rather massive shooting slump he is still THE guy in crunch time and has delivered in a big way so far.

Rankings mean nothing right now. Orlando is still one of the best 3 teams in the NBA and have more upside than any other team in the NBA in my opinion.

Also, I don’t agree with that assessment of Rasheed Wallace. Boston didn’t bring in ‘Sheed to be a regular season stat-whore, he was brought in to be the post season defensive force and low post threat he will be in the post season. Expect a completely different ’Sheed in the post season. One who takes far less jumpers and plays mostly in the trenches. Is there really any question as to what type of ’Sheed we will see in the post season? Unless KG is out and ’Sheed has to be more involved on offense, I don’t think so.

Let's not forget that Sheed wasn't exactly a beast in last year's playoffs.

He completely quit on that Pistons team, especially in the playoffs, which is a bit different from someone quitting on a last place team. He followed that up by coming into this season even more out of shape than he was last year. I don’t think it’s so automatic that he will be “completely different”.

Rasheed Wallace is Terrible

imo

Statistically, he isn't.

Not this year, at least.
