NBA.com's Orlando Magic Highlight Reel
NBA.com brings you the top 10 plays of the Orlando Magic's 2008/09 season:
There are a few surprises:
-
such as Hedo Turkoglu's game-winning three-pointer in Game 3 against Philadelphia ranking ahead of Rashard Lewis' go-ahead three-pointer in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals against Cleveland.
-
13th man Jeremy Richardson (1 appearance) figures more prominently than All-Star point guard Jameer Nelson (0 appearances).
-
Backup point guard Anthony Johnson shows up twice, with two devastating dunks.
Which play from the list was your favorite? Which plays did the NBA wrongly omit?

Rashard Lewis Game 1?
Rashard Lewis’ game-winner in Game One against Cleveland should have probably been thrown into the rankings with his game-winner in Game Four.
Kind of surprised to see Turkoglu’s block in the top plays too. It kind of didn’t matter since the Magic ended up losing that game. I am sure there was some early season Nelson and Howard hook-ups that they just forgot about.
I am also surprised the NBA left out LeBron’s game-winner in Game 2. You would think they would need some excuse to put LeBron in every team’s rankings.

Dad throwing down always brings a huge smile to my face.
And Rafer crossing up LeBron then dishing for the dunk always makes me chuckle too.

I remember watching that Sac (the 3 pointer game)
with everyone on this blog, and it was a terrible game but people still showed up and look at what freaking happened.
Can we start the year now PLEASE?!

My personal fav's
Were from the Cleveland series, since I was at every home game and since that series in retrospect was the highlight of the year. The Rashard 3 in specific gives me goose bumps every time

Man, Dad should have had his own top 10 list.
But anyways, my only major complaint would be the omission of Rashard’s game-winner against the Cavs.

the dwight/rafer pick and roll
was dirty.
hedo’s game winner was slower and more dramatic than the rashard game winners, that might be why that was number one.
Nah' mean, nah'm sayin

I will admit that Hedo's game winner may have saved the season for the Magic.
If Orlando lost that game, the series would have been 3-1 Sixers, and that’s tough to come back from.

No, that's not why.
It deserved to be in the top ten and I can see why it was #1.

Plus, you throw in the SVG smiling commentary on what the playoffs are about
It makes for a great #1.

Jameer Nelson Lakers games in regular season. Lewis’s clutch shots. Plays by MP. Alot of missing and misordered top plays. But, the vid was very well made I have to say, very enjoyable to watch. And AJ’s dunks are a must to include in top plays lol

It's hard to pick 10 plays from the season of a Finals team...
And I think they fcused on the playoff run, so you can’t win ‘em all. That’s why (I believe) we don’t see any plays w/Jameer

Jameer's game-winning shot against the Lakers during the regular season should have made it.
That was Nelson’s “coming of age” game, in front of a nationally televised audience.
