Restricted free-agent point guard C.J. Watson, via Twitter
Sounds like he's returning to Golden State, which extinguishes any notion of the Orlando Magic acquiring him in a sign-and-trade deal, despite their best efforts. According to Alex Kennedy of RealGM, Orlando's final offer for Watson was reserve point guard Anthony Johnson, a first-round draft pick in 2011, and $1 million in cash.

Not really, when you think about it.
Given that the Magic will be one of the best teams in the NBA, that first round pick is going to be around 25-30. Those picks usually land role players, and with some luck, something better. Anthony Johnson’s contract expires after this year so it’s doubtful that he sticks with Orlando any longer. That’s it.
Yeah, it may “seem” like a substantial offer but it really isn’t.

you dont know that....what if an injury occurs to us costing us hte season and that pick happens to be a lottery pick
then it sure does seem like a substantial offer
pt. being, you cant assume that
Sure I can, because barring a disastrous 1% scenario, that pick isn't going to be in the lottery.

Again, barring a disastrous 1% scenario, yes.

i think I got your point
you’re concerned about giving away a pick that ends up being a high pick right?
then protect against losing a high draft pick by making it conditional.
am I still missing something?

I saw that...
Yesterday, Ben….he still hasn’t signed a contract and our friend Ben_Gleicher posted late Wednesday evening that Otis was still trying to get him…I’m not giving up hope until I see C.J.’s name on a contract.
And when he does decide to sign a contract if it’s with the Warriors I wanna know which one he signs…
The 1-year contract or the 3-year deal…?
Reason being if he signs a 1-year deal Otis can go after him again next summer…

Anything is possible, but it's doubtful Watson comes here.

Wow
Warriors turned down a first round pick and cash? I really don’t understand any of the decisions that front office makes.
The Warriors are now going into camp with 5 players who play PG. And they can’t slide Curry to the 2 for major minutes b/c Maggette & Cap’n Jack are locked into the wing spots, with last year’s rookie find Morrow backing them up, which means, in effect, they have 5 point guards—even if Nelson plays small and moves Cap’n Jack to the 4 to create room at the 2, Golden State is apparently going to pay Acie Law (2.2 mil), Speedy Claxton (5.2 mil) & CJ Watson (2 mil?) to backup Ellis (11 mil)—thats 20+ mil for a group of players who cant play at half the level of Chris Paul.
This is Don Nelson we're talking about.
I don’t think I need to further explain myself.

Got this from a friend on another website:
He has not yet decided whether he’s taking the QO, or the 3 year deal, per his Twitter:
Twitter username “jrichordieflyin” asked CJ,
quote:
Did you sign the qualifying offer or the 3 year deal?
CJ replied,

Later in the same hour, CJ posted a status update saying,
quote:
still dont know what to dont want to make the wrong decision and regret it in the long run but will have to decide and go wit that choice
About 11 hours later, user name “VOL_FANATIC” asked CJ,
quote:
Now can I say “CONGRATS on signing!!”??(Hundred dollar billz ya’ll) lol
CJ replied,
quote:
