Orlando Magic Officially Re-Sign Adonal Foyle

Predictably (thanks to yesterday's report by the Orlando Sentinel), the Orlando Magic have re-signed veteran center Adonal Foyle. From the team's press release:

ORLANDO -- The Orlando Magic have re-signed free agent center Adonal Foyle, General Manager Otis Smith announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal are not disclosed.

Foyle played in 10 games last season with both the Magic and Memphis, averaging 1.7 ppg. and 2.6 rpg. in 6.2 minpg. He was traded to Memphis as part of the three-team deal that sent Rafer Alston to Orlando on Feb. 19, later waived by Memphis on Mar. 1, then re-signed by Orlando on Mar. 23.

Originally selected by Golden State in the first round (eighth overall) of the 1997 NBA Draft, Foyle (6'10", 270, 3/9/75) has appeared in 733 regular season games during his 12-year NBA career with Golden State, Orlando and Memphis, averaging 4.1 ppg., 4.7 rpg. and 1.63 blkpg. in 17.8 minpg. Foyle is Golden State's all-time franchise leader in blocked shots with 1,140.

The Magic should be glad to have Foyle, a top-notch defender and class-act human being, back in the fold.

Nope, this should do it

Anderson, Barnes, Bass, Carter, Foyle, Gortat, Howard, Johnson, Lewis, Nelson, Pietrus, Redick, Williams. That’s 13 players. Given lux-tax concerns, the Magic probably won’t add anyone else on a guaranteed deal (why pay so much money for a 14th man?), but they could always invite some guys to training camp.

But yeah, there’s your 2009/10 Orlando Magic.

Well.I'm fine with that.

Yeah, that’s probably it. 14th guy would be too expensive for us,but when we get that ‘ship we’ll be rich lol

So is the Watson trade talk officially over?

Or is there still a slight possibility?

Let's observe a moment of silence for CLee, Skip to my Lou, Batman, and The Michael Jordan of Turkey...

Welcome Back Polish Hammer and Welcome Vinsanity, Ryan Anderson, Brandon Bass, and Matt Barnes!!

It's not completely over.

Come on, it’s Otis we’re talking about.

I love this guy!

He doesn’t mind being a part of a trade to help the team out. Only to return to us for the likely event that we might need him, yet again, at mid-season. Talk about a true team player. Kudos Adonal, kudos!

It'll be good to have his presence in the locker room, more than anything.

dwight now moving to PF
“Getting Adonal can allow us at times to play Dwight [Howard] at power forward,” Magic Coach Stan Van Gundy said. “He can block shots and can give us some physical play.”

I doubt Dwight actually sees any time at PF.

To me, that’s coach speak from SVG.

you did see that this was a 2 year old quote?

So, if it is coach-speak it is old coach-speak. Seems fairly ridiculous at this point.

Here is your 2009/10 Orlando Magic Roster ( at least `til December)...........

I am glad to have Ad Foyle back, he is a team player and good motivador in the bench for the young players, but regarding to the 09/10 Magic roster; I can see a big trade in Orlando including Gortat , JJ and perhaps Pietrus before playoffs time.

Any trade involving Gortat will be extremely difficult to pull off due to CBA rules.

Good signing — Adonal Foyle is one of the best third string centers in the league.
