One player mentioned as a potential free-agent target for the Orlando Magic is Boston's Glen "Big Baby" Davis.

But Magic General Manager Otis Smith said Monday that the team isn't interested in Davis [...]

"I think we like who we like," Smith said. "You can’t make us like who we don’t like. There’s a lot been written about who we like, and most of them were not true. We have a tendency to like who we like. Every franchise does. So, right now, he’s just not on our radar."

I can't discredit Otis Smith

for building this team, but he is strangely stubborn….to a fault. Maybe Davis doesn’t fit in an athletic style offense, but hes a better backup than what we have..

Not for Davis' price ..

Getting over the fact he is from Boston, he seems to have a very bright future and is already very productive on O with decent D. Sure, he needs to improve alot of things, but to pick him up and start at 4 could be a very good combo with Dwight. Young, and as long as he is working hard, he will improve playing with Dwight all the time.

Starting Davis at power forward wouldn't be smart ..

.. Lewis is better off staying at the 4, in that instance.

I read this quote last night

And just had a feeling that I’d wake up this morning and see that we had signed him! Otis is wily haha. You never know with him. I am not a Big Baby fan by any stretch of the imagination (fair or unfair as it may be).

comlpetely agree with Otis

He does not fit the mold of our team and should for no reason(outside of injury) be considered a starter for us. He does some things well, but he just isn’t the type of player that we need to succeed. We are on a limited budget and we need players that are good and fit into our system, not just players who are good.

On to who I want…I don’t think Tree Rollins has signed with anybody yet

Haven't heard that name in a while (Tree Rollins).

for a team with high position flexibility

we cannot top the flexibility of Rollins. He can not only play the 4 or 5, but also coach. I’d like to see Big Baby do that.

Hah. So would I .. ah, Tree Rollins.

I’m always a fan of the old school.

Otis sounds like he's in high school

I don’t like him! Why would you say that I like him?! I’ve never liked him… Haha.

I bet we end up with him now

I rate the guy

But I don’t think he’s a good fit for us.

Speaking of fattie, Sean May is still available.

Life's too short. Be a fan. Magic, Cards and Rays! What a winning combo.

I'm available, too.

My chance is as good as May’s.
