According to a person familiar with the situation, two of [Nate] Robinson's five most serious inquiries have come from the NBA Finalists -- the Lakers and Magic. If [Hedo] Turkoglu winds up in Toronto, Orlando might get serious with Robinson.
Marc Berman of the New York Post writes that the Orlando Magic have made Nate Robinson one of their free-agency targets. His report corroborates this one Howard Beck of the New York Times filed on Thursday.

I guess it really depends on the price the Magic pay for him
I wouldn’t hate Nate Robinson coming here, but I’m not exactly enthused either.

I agree on both counts
But I cannot see any other team out there offering him the MLE either. He will probably just end up accepting the Knicks’ qualifying offer and try again next year. Then again, this offseason has already been nuts so anything could happen

Yeah, this has been a weird off-season because all the heavy hitters have made moves.
The money available is low for free agents, which means teams may go bargain hunting.

Too late, hah.
Just kidding .. Nate Robinson better not land with Orlando. That move would make no sense, whatsoever.

That would make zero sense to sign him, unless it’s for ½ of the mle. They need a SF (Marion/Bass) or a true PF (Wallace).
Yeah, I don't know.
Welcome to 3QC, btw!

Why? Here's why.
They would have the most unstoppable play in the game. Dwight sets a pick in the lane. Robinson jumps over him for the dunk. A play like that…60% of the time it works every time.
But in all seriousness, this would kill what I had so far believed to be a promising off-season.

I doubt it'll happen.

Here's an idea . . . Let's trade for an even shorter point guard than Jameer that can threaten his security as a starter!
BRILLIANT!!!
That would be an issue, yes.

If we get Nate
I lose all my faith in Otis

I wouldn't lose faith, but the move would certainly be questionable and raise eyebrows.

I still don't buy the report .. I don't care if it's been "corroborated".
It makes no sense and goes against what Otis Smith has publicly stated to me and elsewhere.

And you guys thought Rafer had an attitude coming off the bench?

I don't see this happening..
I think are a couple of players who are a better fit, for less, and less possible headache.

I dont see it solving the SF or Big men problems. But its a great move, Robinson is one of the best bench sparks of the league.
It's an unnecessary move.

Otis said The ownership is tcommited to winnig a ring, there idiots if they think it can be done with out paying heavy tax.i think sheed gives us a couple diffrent options and good D, we would still nee a back up C if he wants to start though. pietrus & nate would be a nice punch off the bench, we should be able to have a decent pg to come off the benc with out jameer getting his panties in a bunch! not sayin it has to be nate , but i dont think anybody wants to spend money and theres a lot of tallent to be scooped up.
The Magic aren't going to spend heavy in the tax .. the team can't afford to.
Signing Nate Robinson would waste money for Orlando.

First off
it’s easy to call ownership “idiots” for not spending money when it’s not your money to spend. As I understand it, the owner of the Magic are one of the few who relies on the team for income. If that’s true, then this is his livelihood.
Secondly, the Spurs were able to win 4 championships without going heavily (at all?) into the tax. It can be done.
Well said.

I would accept
Him with open arms, but all depends on the price tag.

Makes no sense at all
When there’s a gaping hole at the four or the three (as Lewis can only play one of those) that Orlando needs to fill. There should be a whole host of guys ahead of Robinson in Orlando’s free agent radar.
And while I can see the rationale for LA, they just burned their MLE on Artest, and can only offer the veteran’s minimum or the biannual exception, both of which are not nearly enough to pry Robinson away from New York.
Most plausible scenario is that Walsh does a sign-and-trade with Robinson to get rid of Jeffries’ contract. Sacramento tried hard at the deadline to get Robinson, and those talks could probably be revisited (say Robinson and Jeffries for Kenny Thomas’ contract).
That Sacramento deal appears to make the most sense for all parties.
Kings get a young combo guard (albeit at the cost of taking back an overpaid swingman with no discernible skills), Knicks get a pretty big expiring deal
Yeah, that'd make sense ..
