Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Russell Robinson, who played well for the Orlando Magic summer league team in July, has accepted an invitation to attend preseason camp of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Robinson, starting point guard on Kansas University's 2008 national championship team, said Friday at the National Championship Golf Classic at Alvamar that he also had received a veterans camp offer with the Magic.

Robinson said both teams were in need of a point guard.

"The situations are very similar," Robinson said of Cleveland and Orlando. "Both teams need a third point guard. Being able to be able to play with Shaq (O'Neal), LeBron (James) and Darnell (Jackson), of course, you can't go wrong with that."

Robinson said there's still a chance he could end up in Orlando's veterans camp, but for right now "I decided with Cleveland."

Well, there you go.

Plenty of third-string points out there, no need to worry. And as before, we’re really much better off with a guy who has at least a nominal threepoint shot.

He's currently two-thirds man, one-third amazing. Which, let's face it, is still a pretty good ratio.

Good luck to him.

Hope everything works out for Russell.

....

How about playing with D12, Vince, Rashard, Jameer, and the defending eastern conference champions? I’d take that pretty quickly… oh well, best of luck to him, he would’v been nice to have but at least he isn’t a starter or anything.
