Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

"The Vince Carter now, I would beat him [in a dunk contest]," [Dwight] Howard said. "He has a 25-inch vert right now so I would beat him. But back in the day, the old Vince Carter when he was half man, half amazing? He would get me. Right now he's just amazing."

Carter laughed at that assessment.

"I think he’s amazing and I’m looking forward to competing with him in practice," Carter said of Howard. "Ask him that a week or two into the season and see what he says. I’m always willing to admit when a guy’s beating me in that arena, so we’ll see."

I asked Carter if he could beat Howard.

"I have some things up my sleeves," he said.

just a heads up, might want to add to the blurb...

the discussion was in reference to a dunk-contest between the two, not a one-on-one game. Reading it over, I figured they were talking about one-on-one.

All Magic dunk contest before the season

All procedes go to charity. People would pay to come see these two show each other up. They could raise a ton of money doing what they do best.

OH GOD...

Please dont go and do anything crazy now, Vince. The McGrady Era emotionally scarred me for various reasons.

I've got vincanity hands down

Even if he’s an old grandpa now, I’ve still got Vincanity to win that contest against Howard…Howard doesn’t have the ability to control his body in the air like Vince. Even if his vertical leap is not as high, he can still do incredibly dunks I imagine. More artistic dunks than Howard can.

Is it too late to bring back Darrell?

He's currently two-thirds man, one-third amazing. Which, let's face it, is still a pretty good ratio.
