PG Russell Robinson played significant minutes for the Magic's summer league team and impressed Orlando Coach Stan Van Gundy, who watched Friday's games from the scorer's table.
"I think Russell's a very solid guy who plays under control, makes the right play, makes very few mistakes and plays very solid defense," Van Gundy said.

Translation: enjoy your spot at the end of the bench, kid.

He should play when Dad is clearly outmatched
Many a game last year Dad got the run around with the quick backup pg’s
Let's go Russell
“I think Russell’s a very solid guy who plays under control, makes the right play, makes very few mistakes and plays very solid defense,” Van Gundy said.
We can teach the kid how to shoot. The effort is there, that is something you can’t teach.

Yeah, I think he'd be a solid pick-up.

I cosign Robinson. He's solid for a 3rd string PG
I’m more comfortable with him that Tyronne Lue.
Well, Lue isn't coming back so ..

I'm curious about these other PG's that Otis said he thought did well
what other available young pg’s played noticeably well from summer league. I’m not hearing anything about Levance Fields or Jeremy Pargo
There was a few .. I can't think of any off the top of my head.
Russell Robinson comes to mind simply because he played for Orlando.

I wasn't there so I don't know howwell Robinson played
but please answer this one question for me.. Can he knock down a wide open 3

Tough to say. He only took 7 threes the entire camp, making 2. One of his makes came when his defender just slipped right in front of him, so he teed-off from the corner and it went in
But he’s more of a penetrating point guard than a pure shooter at this stage.
That sounds good now but as we saw with Alston
if our PG can’t make a wide open 3 our system kinda falls apart
He's going to be the third point guard ..
.. meaning, he’s not going to see many minutes, if at all.
