Best of Luck

Turk was a classy guy and most importantly a winner. He was a playmaker and he will definitely be missed.

Thanks for posting my most favorite Turk shot ever

That shot still gives me chills. Man, I’m really going to miss Turk being on the Magic. I’m happy for him and his big contract with Toronto, but how scary good would the Magic be with Turk coming back? We would have had 4 awesome options for game-winning shots along with Dwight setting crazy screens to free them up. I never bitched about it before, but I really dislike the Rashard deal now since it has helped to severely handicap the Magic’s payroll this year by about 5-7 million dollars that could have helped towards to getting/keeping another player .

Oh well, it is what it is, and no point complaining about it. I will miss you, Turk. I cannot wait for Toronto to come to Portland because I will be there to watch it. I’ll be the guy in the upper deck cheering for you in the midst of 22,000 people screaming vitriol at you (which would be merited you would have to admit considering what happened in that Portland negotiation).

No problem.

I’ve already posted some of Hedo’s other game-winning shots, so I felt the Portland one was due.

Hope Toronto fans will love you as much as we do.

Turkey's Turk

Loved him. I wish him the best with Toronto and I think they will improve with him as long as the coach trusts him even when he makes some bad passes. Toronto will make the playoffs as long as they stay healthy and Bargnani continues his improvement. Some things I loved about Turk:

-His overall game, 15/5/5; a threat for triple double a lot of nights.

-His alley-oop passes to Dwight when he spins off his man and Dwight dunks it while his defender is still on the ground. Also, he was the one who lobbed it to Dwight to beat the Spurs last year and almost did the same w/ Lee in the Finals.

-His buzzer beaters against: Portland, Boston, Phily. I know I’m missing some but also loved him wrapping up LeBron last year and forcing a jumpball. Blocking Kobe’s shot was pretty dope too.

-The Sneakers! He rocked the Adidas TS Lightspeed a year after they discontinued them. Another dope sneaker in Magic colors.

-Pizza and funny faces.

Peace out Turk. We’ll miss ya.

Poor, little 'Farewell, Hedo' post

The post that focuses on Brandon Bass’ signing took all of the thunder.

My favorite Magic Player

Turkoglu was and probably will forever be my favorite Magic player. His departure really bummed me out and I’ll never fully accept it. Part of my likeness towards him came from the fact he played for the 2002 Kings and I felt they were robbed (by the team I have despised since that July day in 1996, so it all comes full circle back to the Magic). He was clutch for the Kings. So I was so excited when he signed with the Magic eventually. He came here when no one wanted anything to do with the franchise and he put up with the coaches and management changes and just kept getting better and never complained. For those reasons I just think the guy deserves a championship and probably won’t get it in Toronto now. Then again, he gave up winning…for money and a better social situation. I’m sure his team mates will miss him and I know the fans will. His numbers don’t equate a jersey retirement and now with Vince wearing 15 it definitely won’t happen. Its too bad that after this summer, he’ll just become another great player to have worn a Magic jersey.

Word.

Nah don't worry

In 4 years, Toronto will be looking to rebuild and shed payroll while we will be adding new pieces around a Dwight in his prime, we can pick up Hedo for the minimum to get him his ring…

by Eric9321 on Jul 10, 2009 6:54 PM EDT up reply actions

that will be an awesome full circle

especially if they get a ring…

As much as I admire Hedo, Michael Jordan of Turkey is either an insult to the GOAT or to Turkish Basketball.

by pembeci on Jul 13, 2009 7:12 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah I'm glad Hedo finally gets his due but sorry to see him go.

He’s been fun to watch for the last 5yrs. A class act and helluva player. Heard one of the reasons he opted for Toronto was a phone call from Bosh who really wanted to play with Hedo. He definitely will give Toronto another option. They musta really wanted him. Never thought they would renounce those 3 players. Best of Luck to The Pizza Man.
