Around SBN: BJ Penn Says He's Not Interested in Fighting Josh Koscheck

"The only move that really, really shocked me was when Orlando got rid of Courtney Lee," [Shaquille O'Neal] said. "That dude's going to be a star."

Shaq also said Otis does an excellent job with the team and bringing Vince Carter to the Magic was an excellent move. But then he went back to Lee.

"That's a star. Star, star, star."

Hmm .. talk about a backhanded compliment from Shaq (via the Orlando Sentinel).

It is somewhat of a backhanded compliment....

but he’s telling the truth. It’s a win now move. CLee was coachable, talented and still had quite a bit of potential. We saw glimpses of what his offense can be and certainly of what his defense can be. With the right coaching…he was going to be a star.

Well, we'll find out as he continues his career in New Jersey.

I don't know about a star

But a very valuable role player definitely. I don’t think of Lee as a star. Just a great fit player for a team that needs one at the SG.

SHAQ IS RIGHT. SHAQADOMUS.
This was the right trade to make for the Magic. Vince Carter is WAY better than C.Lee and Turk for 2 seasons or so, then CLEE is going to blow up in our faces as a Star. Which is why I want the Magic to trade back for him next summer or down the line I hope.

If he doesnt become a star, its because he is mostly at a mid-hgh NBA level alrdy at 24,25 yrs old. He will be on a bad team for awhile now too, and if he’s traded, it would be easier to trade for him back if he is a star or showing flashes of it.

well when Vince comes off the books C Lee will too, if he is a star and Dwights boy, then He’ll be back.shaq and lebron deserve each other… looking forward to the dissapointing season for both those loosers.shaq had Nash, Amare, Richardson, among other better shooters than the cavs have, and how did that work out? Toronto, Washington, and maybe the bulls if they get Boozer are going to better than the cavs.Maybe we will get really lucky and they will have a terrible year and this will be the last of shaq.

Well, Courtney is close with Dwight so .. never know.

I think you’re being way too harsh on Cleveland. I think they’re going to have another fantastic season.

Shaq being Shaq

NO OFFENSE to C-Lee, but this is Shaq just trying to start stuff (all over again) and draw attention to himself while bringing down others.

Trade is Fair.

That is what happens when you make a fair trade involving a star. You have to give up a potential star or a star in the trade..

This wasn’t like the Laker or Cavs trade. Where the team getting the star, gave up nothing in return.

We have the toughest piece to find already. We have the best Center in basketball, you can find wing players to put around him.

The Lakers gave up their flexibility

That was mostly what Memphis was after. (That and the rights to Marc Gasol.)

The Big Floppopotamus is just scared we'll be smacking his team around like we have all season long.

He’ll just be getting dunked on in a different uniform.

Cavs play better at a fast pace.

Shaq will slow em down just like he did the Suns.
