Forget Franny, when is Milovan Rakovic coming here?
http://www.nba.com/draft2007/profiles/MilovanRakovic.html
Milovan Rakovic was the Magic's 60th overal draft pick from the 2007 NBA draft. His rights were traded to Orlando from Dallas in exchange for Reyshawn Terry, originally ORL's 44th overall pick in that same year's draft. With Fran definitely staying over seas for at least another season, I was wondering if maybe we could bring this dude over to fill up the lane in garbage time. From what I understand, he's a big body that hustles and rebounds, kinda like Gortat. What gives?

always wondered what happened to that pick
I mean I know it was unlikely he’d come over, do we even have his rights still?
One Freaken Second
Other late/non draftees, international players
Levance Fields should be playing for Magic in summer league, and could potentially be the 3rd PG.
Carlos Cabeza I think it was.., was also invited into Magic for the summer league. He is an international player, I dont even remember what position and height/body type, but I read a story about him being interviewed happy about receiving the invite tho is weighing options on European teams mainly I think. I’ll have to search for that article again.
And Milovan is a decent cheap big body, indeed. Never hurts to have extra bigs really..
Fields is on the team. Magic invited Cabezas (he's a 6'1" combo guard) but there's no word on whether or not he accepted.
We’ll know for sure tomorrow, when the rosters are released.

any news on Milovan, Ben?

Nothing yet. When the team makes the whole list available, it'll show up on this site.
I have a hunch that Rakovic won’t play a single NBA minute, but I could be wrong.
You're probably right.
He played last 2 seasons in the Spartak from St. Petersburg, and his statistic are nothing special.
Also,he wasn’t first option in our young national team, neither.
If he ever somehow ends in magic roster (highly unlikely),he’ll sit somewhere at the far end of the bench.
Sorry,Milovan.
He's interesting because he's another ranged player, though
In FIBA play, he’s shooting 38.5% from 3, averaging 7.3 points and 5.4 rebounds in 19.9 minutes/game. He’d definitely be a project, but I could see him being a backup center if he does well in summer league.

Gaah...ignore that - I accidentally pulled his numbers from the U16 tournament

2006, 2009...what's the difference?
For Spartak this year, he’s averaging 8.7 points and 2.7 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game. 60% shooting from the field, 71.2% from the line. His block rate’s really low, at 0.1 per game, but he’s also averaging a steal once every 23 minutes.
For EuroLeague play, he’s gotten more minutes (19.5 per game), and scored 12.0 points and pulled down 3.5 rebounds. 62.5% from the field, 66.7% from the line. 1.0 blocks per game, and 1.5 steals per game.
He looks to be (at the time) a low-grade backup, but his stats have consistently been better on the bigger stages than the small ones (his SuperLeague and EuroLeague stats are better than his Serbian and Russian league stats), he’s noted as having a strong work ethic, and his hands are pretty good. I wouldn’t want him anywhere near a starting position, but as a 10-12 minute time-filler I’d take him.
