Basketball-Reference

First of all, I am a Warrior fan/Laker hater, and I have been rooting for the Magic in the East.

Star-divide

I was looking at basketball reference.com, the largest stat database for basketball on the internet, and I looked at the Boston Celtics. I noticed every championship says "won finals" in bold letters.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/BOS/

All teams that win the finals have the bold letters, but the teams that lose in the NBA have a standard text like the rest of the page.

Now what I found interesting while looking at the Lakers page is the 2009 "playing in finals," it was written in bold.

When I looked at the Magic however, it was writen like the rest of the page.

Although it was most likely a common mistake, its interesting how basketball-reference sort of wrote off the Magic. Its probably nothing, but it is always fun to complain about the Lakers.

I think almost every team might have it's share of Laker Bandwagoners when they're team is out of it

But as Warrior fans, I think we might lead the whole world in that. It sucks.

.. I won't even lie, it's getting ridiculous.

If people want to hate on the Lakers, do it elsewhere. This isn’t the site for it.

Sorry if I sound annoyed or rude, but it’s getting old quickly.

That's how it is in sports.

I can see if we’re using profanity and insults what have you, but I think you’re being a bit too much patrolling about that.

I hear what you're saying.

Don’t take my comments above as if I was directing them towards you, even though I did ‘reply’ to your comment. I was just speaking in general.

Don't worry. It wasn't anything you posted, specifically.

.. the conversation just got out of control.

I'm glad you caught yourself and said it was most likely a common mistake, because it was.

I know Justin and Neil, two gentlemen at BBR, and they do a fantastic job over there.

Want proof that Basketball-reference is a little off....

Their formula for all time offensive rating has Steve Kerr #1. LOL

Not a flaw of Basketball-reference

just a flaw (maybe limitation?) of the statistic itself. You just have to take it with a grain of salt, just like any other statistic.

Yeah, just take the statistic with a grain of salt.

ORtg does a great job of simply pointing out how efficient a player is offensively.
