Rec'd for truth

Also, it’s proof that the Celtics are irritating, but small time. Ha!

Eh, don't worry about the comment.

I don’t blame Paul Pierce for being confident.

He kind've should be.

When you really look at, if they get KG back they can beat all of the east. It took us 7 games to beat them and that’s without KG. If they’re team was healthy playing against us, I can’t say we would have won.

I know people are sick of the argument ..

.. but it’s no different to the Jameer Nelson situation. It’s nothing but a big ‘what if’ scenario.

We got a replacement for Meer,

they didn’t, causing their rotation to be shorter and Perkins making a huge adjustment.

Well, Glen Davis did an admirable job of filling in for Garnett.

What seemed to break the camel’s back was Powe going down.

Powe is the part that people forget

Along with Moore stinking up the joint in Boston, but that’s not a huge surprise.

in his defense he was injured most of that streak

But I still can’t stand the guy’s ego. He has long been part of a mediocre team and still he acts like a douche.

by Jwoey on Jun 18, 2009 9:27 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He's cocky for good reason

He knows the Celtics match up well on Magic with a healthy 100% KG. I still think he’ll be eating crow after the Magic defeat them in a series for the 2nd consecutive season..

Exactly.

Though I don’t know about your last sentence .. no one will know until next season.

This year was a missed opportunity for them...they may not have that next year

The fact that KG missed as much time as he did from an awkward landing is very telling of his age and mileage catching up with him. Don’t be surprised to see significant drop-off or more injury time from one of the “Big 3” next season.

They very well might have won it all this year if KG got hurt…but they traded away their future for a shot at a quick title. They got what they wanted, but I have the feeling the next couple years they will be paying for it as their aging stars begin their declines.

I think they have one more chance

being this season to get another title. After that the “Big 3” are done.

by Ariel112 on Jun 18, 2009 3:07 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The Big Three might be done during this off-season.

There’s been rumblings that Ainge might move one of ’em.

Just trying to shift the roster so that it's a little bit younger, from what I gather.

Allen, Garnett, and Pierce are going to have to be replaced eventually.

that's true,but I don't see it happening this offseason

they have a pretty fine chances with this roster,IMO

Have to be Allen

Pierce and Garnett are both tied up for too long. Allen’s in his last year next year.

Pierce looked out of shape to me. No muscle.

Allen did struggle in the playoffs although that’s not the first time that’s happened.

by Ariel112 on Jun 19, 2009 4:41 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Pierce was just gassed.

.. and Allen struggled because he was nursing a hamstring injury.

Great job PP, you just dissed your own team and for that matter the entire eastern conference, bravo. Oh and a tip, next time use spell-check before using all those big words =)

I sincerely doubt the Celtics will be that much better next year.

Their “3 Bigs” are aging. Their bench next year might not be as good as this year’s (just like this year’s bench was not as good as during their championship season). The Celtics do have Rondo tho, who could possibly surpass one of the current “Big 3” for Boston, as far as importance to his team goes.

Orlando will be better because everything points at Dwight improving his game (I’m convinced that his offensive game will be very different after this summer), and also Nelson should be a better player next season. We need to find a way to keep Hedo.

Cleveland will most likely make some improvements this offseason too.

Magic Fan since the 1992-1993 Season.

its funny...

because it comes from a guy whose game is based on flopping and searching for calls. it’s sad that he takes a wide-open shot and it looks like he about to take a hit. and this is who “experts” call the toughest player in the league? really?

by GuapoDCole on Jun 17, 2009 11:21 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

No big deal, let him say what he likes.

Yep,they’ll come stronger next year (most probably),
but Magic shall improve too (most probably).
So,assuming there is no injuries/major trades,I’ll take our chances vs them again.
