Word of the Day: Fight

fight - (v.) competitiveness: an aggressive willingness to compete

Via Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel:

We don't want to see them win a championship, period. Regardless if it's on our floor or if it's in L.A. We didn't come to the Finals just to be in the Finals. Our goal is to win the NBA championship. We're down 3-1, but we're not going to give up. We can't lay down. We do that, we might as well forfeit and just give 'em the rings instead of coming out to play. No, we're going to fight, and who knows what can happen? Anything can happen.

Nice word,E. Exactly right.

Lewis said the right things. Couldn’t say better. Excellent attitude to have. But,Rashard :
We need you to DO right things. Come out tonight and play like you know to. WE will forget about game 4. At least I will.
FIGHT,man.

Hahaha

Precisely what I was thinking.

It may be a huge cliche

but really they just have to take it one game at a time. Winning three straight seems like a daunting task, so don’t approach it that way. You won’t get the chance to win three straight unless you win tonight.

I'll be at the game tonight

Visiting here in Orlando on vacation… I’m hoping to score a bargain ticket at the last minute.

I like the Magic to bounce back tonight and extend the series.

Don't you have a perfect record attending Magic games?

If so, secure that ticket no matter the cost!

Gotsa question

Are you going back to the Metropolitan cuz it’s your lucky spot? (That so cracks me up.)

No, the game is on ABC . . .

And therefore I can watch it at home. I mainly went to Cafe Met because they had cable, I could get the TV to myself, and I can easily milk a pint of $1 beer for 45 minutes at a time.

Yeah makes sense

I don’t have cable either, and my links during the finals have been terrible. Pretty disappointing given how many people watch the finals. Oh well, I ain’t going to pay to watch the finals either.

I wonder if it will be better this time now that all the signals are digital

I’m not sure if the digital signal will translate well into the game feeds.

I don't think it makes a difference

It has more to do with your internet connection and the speed of the guys webcam that he is broadcasting over.

The Magic had won the last 11 games that I attended

…since January of 2005.

I was unable to find any bargain tickets from any scalpers, but I did attend the watch party outside the Arena before leaving at the half.

So technically, my unbeaten string is still intact.

Now is the time

This is the ONLY game that matters…stay in the ‘Now"… Forget the past games and don’t worry about the next…tired, but true. Go, Magic!

Yep. true to the bone.

No shame at all, just sorrow. But,to be honest,if someone told us few months ago that we’ll be playing in the finals, what would you say to him?
This season is a tremendous success.

by Dzogi on Jun 15, 2009 10:43 AM EDT up reply actions

Tremendous success, indeed.

I know everyone will be disappointed in losing the NBA Finals. Trust me .. I’m bummed out, especially after how Game 4 winded down. But there’s no denying this was an awesome year for Orlando.

Just awesome.
