Don't Quit
So, it seems that we're spending the day wallowing in our pity at the 3-1 deficit.
I know, I feel the same way too.
I don't profess to call myself a gigantic basketball fan, but I have always and unequivocally been an Orlando Magic fan. From the beginning when just about all we had was the occasional record assist night by Scott Skiles or record 3-point night by Dennis Scott; to the glory days of Shaq, Penny Hardaway and Horace Grant; to the heart-and-hustle period where we were led by little more than Darrell Armstrong; to the struggles with Tracy McGrady, Steve Francis and Grant Hill; to the modern era of good times with Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis and Jameer Nelson.
This team has come a long way since we were dumped "for an extra $1 million" by Shaq in 1996. We overcome the odds on a franchise level, on a seasonal level and on a game-to-game level. We go from no center to the greatest center currently playing. We go from threats to move away in the late 1990s to a new arena after next season. We go from terrible to spectacular with just a few lucky breaks.
No matter what happens from this point forward, there is nothing but good in the Orlando Magic's future, and I have no doubt in my mind that, come what may, we will be back here in the Finals next year.
Then again, this season--and this series--isn't over yet, no matter what the pundits are saying.
The team can recover from this. Just because a Finals recovery from a 3-1 hole hasn't been done, doesn't mean it can't be done. All it takes is a new gameplan, and a simple mindset:
"Don't let us win this game."

I am feeling better today.
and really, if Magic is gonna win a Championship this year, it makes no sense not to do it the hard way, given what this team has gone through in the post season.
I mean, after seeing Magic struggle in the last few games of the regular season, people are picking Magic as the only one in th top 4 that would be upsetted. And then Magic lose game1 to the 76ers.
People kept saying Magic was done after Davis hit that buzzer beater and Celts took home court adv. back. Then Magic collapsed in game 5 and even I thought it’s over.
When the Cavs were hitting shots at will to start game1, I thought, ok, maybe this Cavs team is really that good. Then LeBron hit that shot in game 2. Turning point! Momentum!
Obviously each series is different, and the hole Magic is in now is way deeper than before, but one thing for sure is that no matter how bad or how many brainfarts Magic committed, they learn from it.
So let’s rebound again and win the next one at home. Then all Magic need is win one in LA to force game 7. Anything can happen in game 7.
The Lakers choked away a 3-1 series lead against the Suns back in '06
And that team was coached by the supposed “Zen Master.” Yup, anything can happen. BEAT L.A.
I appreciate your optimism, but.........
Kwame Brown < Pau Gasol
Smush Parker < Derek Fisher
Brian Cook < Trevor Ariza
Chris Mihm < Andrew Bynum
etc, etc, etc,…………
Plus Lakers have 2 home games. In ’06 Phoenix had 2 home games.

Sorry pslakerfan is right
I don’t buy that comparison at all. That Suns team was much better than the Lakers that year where as Orlando and LA this year are fairly even. It’s not impossible, but using that 06 team as a reason why isn’t valid.

No, I know.
There isn’t a comparison.
I never said there was. I was just saying, it’s not exactly OK to talk about how one team is different, when the other is wildly different as well.
It would be much, much harder for the Magic to come back than the Suns to come back in that one.
Um, how do you figure.
“is WAY better than that Suns team.”

Hate to point this out........
since you are grieving and all…… but shouldn’t your new mindset be " Don’t let us lose this game?"
So I told her," I'll be nicer if you try to be smarter!'..That was a mistake.
Like any good drug
As I went to bed last night, I swore I was done.
Now I’m thinking well, a little more composure and we’d be 3-1 up so, you know, anything can happen.

Great post, btw.
I know last night was a tough loss. But whatever happens the remainder of the series, I think we all should appreciate what a special season it has been for the Orlando Magic. It’s truly been .. a magical ride.
