Reebok asks Gortat to cover up his Jumpman tattoo, Gortat gives them the Hammer!

Good for Marcin!

Back when Magic backup C Marcin Gortat was coming up in the European leagues he developed quite a reputation for his high-flying tendencies.

Along the way Gortat, an afar admire of Michael Jordan, got the Jordan jump man logo tattooed on his right calf. Well, it seems that one competing shoe giant doesn’t share the same love for MJ.

Gortat recently got a call from Reebok – who he has an endorsement contract with – asking if he could cover it up. Gortat and his colorful Jordan shoutout apparently appeared in a picture on the front of a Polish newspaper after Game 1.

Reebok’s suggestions were apparently to wear high socks or body makeup. But Gortat wasn’t too keen on either.

“I've been wearing it four or five years now, and it helped me get to the NBA,” Gortat said after Tuesday’s shoot around. “They didn't say anything about it when I signed the contract, so it's not going anywhere. I don't think they are paying me enough to take it off.”

You beat me in posting this, DSK!

LOL, knew the community would appreciate this one.

We were both pretty late, saw Schmitz had it on his blog at 7pm last night, though we had more important things on our minds like trying to stay calm!

I know what you mean!

I can breathe a bit easier now that we’ve won our first Finals game, though this is far from over, obviously.

Don’t let the man hold you down, Marcin!

Same what a difference a night and a game makes.

If we had lost, surely there would be no hope and we’d be devastated this morning.

Since we won one game, we certainly have hope, we have life and we can relax until Thursday.

Best of all, meaningful playoff basketball has been extended for at least another 2 nights.

Yeah. It's a cheap one, though.

You really should replace your avatar with a Howard picture

Shaq has been nothing but disrespectful to Howard.

I'm aware of that.

I still like Shaq, though.

I respect your opinion

I feel he’s one of the biggest a$$holes to ever play the game. I can’t wait until him and Kobe leave. I hate them both with the passion.

I used to not like Kobe either,

but I think hes matured alot since he was alot younger. He looks like a real team leader and is still the best in my mind for another season or two. Shaq is one of the best centers ever, i take his criticisms with a grain of salt considering his personality tho. I dont think hes gonna help Cle against Orlando next season tho if Shaq really does go over there.
