Similar to what I did in an earlier fanpost, I took the most-used 5-man units (per 82games) for Cleveland to look at how the team's Offensive Efficiency, Defensive Efficiency, and +/- per minute vary depending on the player.
Cleveland as a whole:
OE 1.14
DE 1.01
+0.24 Pts/Min
Mo Williams (1920 minutes in top-20 units)
OE 1.13
DE 1.00
+0.20
Boobie Gibson (722 minutes)
OE 1.12
DE 1.03
+0.16
Delonte West (1503 minutes)
OE 1.16
DE 0.99
+0.37
Wally Szczerbiak (637 minutes)
OE 1.12
DE 1.02
+0.26
Tarence Kinsey (52 minutes)
OE 0.95
DE 1.17
-0.48
Sasha Pavlovic (385 minutes)
OE 1.15
DE 1.06
+0.16
Lebron James (1940 minutes)
OE 1.15
DE 0.99
+0.35
Anderson Varejao (1573 minutes)
OE 1.14
DE 1.01
+0.29
Ben Wallace (975 minutes)
OE 1.15
DE 0.98
+0.28
Zydrunas Ilgauskas (1325 minutes)
OE 1.15
DE 0.98
+0.36
Joe Smith (89 minutes)
OE 1.07
DE 1.10
-0.20
Darnell Jackson (39 minutes)
OE 1.20
DE 1.20
-0.05
JJ Hickson (174 minutes)
OE 0.97
DE 1.17
-0.49
Thoughts: I can see why James ended up at Power Forward in 5 of Cleveland's top 20 lineups - behind Varejao, they have nobody worth using. Smith, Jackson, and Hickson all played poorly this year. The only backups that aren't a massive drop-off from the starters are Gibson, Szczerbiak, and Wallace. If Cleveland's stuck calling in Kinsey, Pavlovic, Smith, or Jackson, they tend to be a weaker team. Orlando didn't have anybody over +0.30, but they also have nobody with a negative score overall.
