On March May (whoops!) 13th, 2008, the Orlando Magic's 2007/2008 season ended in Detroit after the Pistons handed them a 91-86 defeat in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals. Today, one year and one day later, Orlando will hope to avoid a similar fate. Down 3-2 to the Boston Celtics, the Magic must win tonight in order to keep their season alive, forcing a Game 7 this Sunday in Boston.
We've said almost all we've had to say about what the Magic need to do in this series--here's Eddy on 5 things they can do, and my post from earlier today about Dwight Howard--so there's no point in dragging this preview post out.
UPDATE: Eddy here, with some final thoughts before the game:
- John Hollinger of ESPN.com thinks three-point shooting will be a storyline to watch out for between the Orlando Magic and Boston Celtics, tonight.
- Likewise, check out Dwight's comments on his official blog, today, about the road ahead for the team in the series. I suggest giving the post a read.
The game tips at 7 on ESPN. I hope to discuss the game with some Magic players in the locker-room beforehand, so if everything works out, look for a post on that subject here just before tipoff.
