Poll: Predict The Outcome Of The Series

Well, the first poll post I wrote a few days ago was a success. Good activity and good discussion from everyone (big ups). So, let's have another brainstorming session!

Tomorrow, the Orlando Magic will try to capitalize on the momentum established after winning Game 4 last night versus the Philadelphia 76ers in dramatic fashion. A win puts the Magic in the drivers seat to wrap up the series in Philly. A loss puts the 76ers in the drivers seat to wrap up the series in Philly. Needless to say, tomorrow is a big game for both teams. So, the question I pose to the community is who do you think will win the series and in how many games?

I know we've had a poll like this before, but consider this a re-do. Deal?

I'm not going to predict anything about this series . . .

I’m super paranoid I’ll jinx the Magic if I tried. I do wish the 76ers would give the Magic one game where they allow the Magic to blow the Sixers out. These close competitive games are a heart attack waiting to happen for me.

Yeah, all the close games are full of drama and entertaining but they're killing my heart too.

Wow, I'm shocked at all the 6 game predictions

considering the board was full of “sky is falling, the stats say we lose, the season is over” talk after game three.

By the way, I took Magic in 7. I see Magic winning handily tomorrow, Sixers winning a close, potential game winning shot in game six and the Magic narrowly winning game seven.

I want to believe the Magic will win in 6, but I'm erring on a .. Magic will win in 7 prediction, too.

Magic in 6

and I’ve surprised myself because I’m usually a pessimistic (sp?). But I know Orlando is the better team, even though they haven’t played like it, and the better team usually wins in a best-of-seven. We’ve battled to 2-2 despite playing particularly poor. If we get back to playing to our potential, we’ll be looking at a pair of double digit wins.

It's pessimist, for the record!

Figured I’d help.

One thing I do know is that no matter how much the "experts" claim we need more heart...

…we won’t let another team beat us down by 58 in our own house in the playoffs with the season on the line! Damn, it must be pretty hard to be a Hornets player or fan right now! Ouch!

Chris Paul's line:

36mins 2-7 FG; 0-1 3Pt; 0-0FT; 2rb; 6ast; 2stl; 6to; 38 +/; 4pts

Ugh!

not sure what happened there...

that should be -38 plus/minus differential.

Chris Paul struggles against Good Defensive teams

Someone had put a statline up from last year’s MVP worthy season and mentioned that when he played against reputable defensive minded teams like the Magic, Pistons, Spurs, Rockets and Nuggets (this year) he’s something like 16 and 6 with the pts/assists. So he is somewhat human after all.

According to the AP article...

…(and I’m surprised at all with this stat), that this game matched the most lopsided victory in NBA playoff history! The other landslide was back in 1956 when the then Minneapolis Lakers crushed the then St. Louis Hawks, 133-75.

by malars on Apr 27, 2009 11:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Actually, I take that back...

…I am surprised that there was another playoff game that lopsided, and that a team in ‘50s scored 133 points. Wasn’t that pre-shot clock?

by malars on Apr 27, 2009 11:36 PM EDT up reply actions

First year of the shot clock was in 1954-1955.

Magic in 7

Orlando takes Philly in this game, the plucky Sixers come out in Philly and play with everything on the floor and then it swings back to the O-rena on Sunday.
