Did DH make The Jump and no one noticed or is it me
Usually I rely on the greatness that is ben q to call out and identify steps in the maturity that is dwight. Which is why I am disappointed the development in dh's game was not identified in the knicks game. By now everyone should know dh's alley oop at the end of the third quarter that momentarily stemmed the tide for the magic. What I thought/enjoyed and was long awaiting was dh's reaction to the oop slam. A casual "oh" face to the spread hand or wondrous/playful expression to the mates did not follow as expected, instead a cold deadly short fist pump shouted from the depths of a man who knew and expected bigger and better glories awaited. The evolution stopped smiling, intensified and stuffed ronjo, declaring "that" dh that everyone fears does exist and they better get ready.

it was the alley against the celtics that blew the roof open not the knicks

Not quite there
I think Dwight has improved by leaps and bounds this season — especially defensively — and last year’s taste of the playoffs has really helped him mature. But Howard still has only scratched his potential. His offensive game is still pretty raw and he is still developing some touch around the basket.
The biggest improvement he needs to make is learning how to stay involve when he does not get the ball. Against the Knicks last Saturday, by his own admission, he let the referees and the defense bother him and he became a non-factor. I think this happens to him a lot against Detroit too.

I wouldn't say that Howard's offensive game is "pretty raw" ..
It’s substantially better than it was last season. With that said, it can still improve but Dwight’s getting there.

agreed
When he improves his ball handling, when he improves his short range shots… he’ll be nigh unstoppable

Once that elbow jumpshot becomes a weapon Howard uses with confidence and consistency, forget it.

He's more serious this year, but he still need to work on not letting the officiating affect him.

I think D.H. has improved his offense this year with that baby hook he has working and he is making some critical blocks at the right time. He has made a little progress on his foul shots but he still needs to do better with that. All in all I think he is right on track.
