Wishing a happy birthday to Jameer Nelson, who turned 27 today. Unfortunately, his season is likely over, but he's clearly had an excellent year and is a big reason why the Orlando Magic stand a great chance of finishing third in the East despite not having him for only half a season. Hopefully he can shake his shoulder injury as neatly as he shook the entire Toronto Raptors defense on this play:

Magic radio color commentator (and former head coach) Richie Adubato reportedly made some sexist comments about referee Violet Palmer during the Magic's loss to the Pacers on Friday. For what it's worth, Richie coached in the WNBA for 10 years.

This list of 20 things Anderson Varejao should not do on the basketball court makes me feel less... angry... that the Magic traded him for Tony Battie before he ever had a chance to play for them. Battie's not a great player, but he doesn't make silly mistakes like Varejao does. Watching him bang three 18-footers in the second quarter yesterday was rewarding.

Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Woodson said, in effect, he ran star shooting guard Joe Johnson into the ground because he wanted Johnson to make the All-Star team. Kinda makes you appreciate Stan Van Gundy more than you already do, doesn't it?
