"I'm too old [to worry about losing minutes], man," [Anthony Johnson] said. "My opportunity of getting the big deal and playing the big minutes have passed. So I really don't worry about that too much now. Now it's all about winning and making my career last as long as possible.
"When you're younger, you can handle 35, 40 minutes night in and night out. Right now, me being 34 ... some nights I feel very good to handle those kind of minutes and I play well, and some nights I don't play so well. So the team has to find that consistency."
Brian Schmitz of the Orlando Sentinel says Anthony Johnson has no problem yielding his starting job to Rafer Alston. Professionalism and class from A.J.

Fair play to No-Neck.
But then I don’t think anyone ever questioned his class. Just a shame he couldn’t reach even a fraction of the dizzying heights he did against the LA Crappers. Alston dishing the ball around for 8 assists/1 TO is certainly a joy to behold. After his post-game comments (“Everywhere I looked, there was a weapon to pass to”), I think he’s going to thrive in our system. I hope this limits his need to feel he must shoot the ball for the team. As you say, as long as his misses are within the flow of the offense and not just chucked, we can’t really have that many complaints.
It’s a massive boost for the team that looked utterly lost without Nelson.
Right. Nobody questioned his character, but it's nonetheless refreshing to see he has a team-first attitude.
Hopefully Rafer is as agreeable next year when he has to back-up Jameer.
you think the Magic will keep him?
I’ve seen some say that Alston will be a good bargaining chip for us this summer, b/c of his experience and contract.
You read it! You can't unread it!

Magic could do a myriad of things with Alston.
Keep him.
Trade him next year at the deadline.
Keep him next year, then let him walk.
