Sixers president Ed Stefanski announced the signing Wednesday on the team’s Web site. Iverson is expected to make his debut Monday against the Denver Nuggets.
Stefanski says in a news release that the team felt “Allen was the best available free agent guard to help” after the injury to Lou Williams, who will miss up to eight weeks.

They need another quality big more than they need a scorer methinks.
Louis Williams is rounding into shape and he won’t be gone for too much longer. What happens when he comes back?
They can’t relegate Louis back to the bench, he’s part their future. But will AI be happy off the bench? If he had a hard time getting playing time and happiness behind Mike “I really suck this year” Conley, how is he going to feel behind Louis who is having a breakout year?
