Via the Orlando Magic:

The Orlando Magic’s Stan Van Gundy was named the NBA Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for games played in October and November. Van Gundy was also honored with the award with the Orlando Magic for games played in January 2009.

Van Gundy guided the Magic to a 14-4 (.778) record, tops in the Eastern Conference. The Magic recorded key road wins over fellow Eastern Conference powers Boston and Atlanta, amassing an 8-2 record away from Amway Arena. Orlando has won six straight road games, one shy of equaling the franchise record. The Magic rank in the top five defensively in opponents offensive rebounds allowed per game (1st), opponents assists per game (1st), points allowed (4th) and opponents field-goal percentage (5th).

The Phoenix SunsAlvin Gentry was named the NBA Western Conference Coach of the Month.

You might want to add "Coach"

between “conference” and “of”.

At least you didn’t do this. It’s usually bad when the editor misses an “NFP” note, but this was spectacularly bad.

Nice to see Stan get recognized.

I thought for sure Mike Woodson would get it, but I guess their recent bumps (defeat against the Magic included) put Stan over the top. Not to mention all of the roster adjustments. Great job by the coach who looks most like Mario in the NBA.

Yeah, that's probably what put him over the top.

That and having the best record in the East after the first month helped, too.

So, do we start referring to JVG as Luigi?
