Bobcats get Jackson

According to Yahoo! sports :

The Golden State Warriors traded Stephen Jackson to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic, two NBA sources with knowledge of the deal said Monday morning.

The trade also sends Warriors guard Acie Law(notes) to the Bobcats.

The Warriors rid themselves of a disgruntled player, who only two months ago served as the team’s captain, and gain payroll relief in the process. Bell’s $5.3 million contract expires at the end of this season while Radmanovic is due $13.3 million over this season and next, provided he exercises his option for 2010-11.

I don't understand the trade but I don't care, as long as the Cavaliers didn't get Jax.

It confuses me too, but I'll go with it

I understand GSW wanted to get rid of Jackson, since he was becoming a problem.
I understand GSW wanted a SF in return, since Azubuike’s hurt.
I understand Vlad Radmanovic isn’t a fair return for Jackson (although their salaries are within the spread)

I don’t get Raja Bell and Acie Law being the complementary pieces – the Warriors definitely don’t need Law, what with them having Claxton, Ellis, and Watson, but I wouldn’t have thrown Bell in as a Bobcats GM. I would have tried to sell them on Henderson or done a second deal of Law for trade exceptions (Charlotte has two for Dudley and Hollins worth a combined $2.19M), but I don’t see a third PG as a need for Charlotte with Augustin and Felton.

Eddy

They may just get S-Jax if only because they can give Charlotte what they want. Apparently Cleveland didn’t want to touch what they had (depending on who you ask—they are differing versions on this) to do this deal.

No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

I hear the Cavaliers had the superior offer but the Warriors decided to "punish" Jax.

At least, that’s what I heard. Knowing Nellie, it’d make sense.

Yep, same here. Kinda goes with when GM Otis said something somewhat similar when GSW wouldnt deal Watson to us.

Different stories going around

Like that the Cavs wanted to trade Delonte West – but only if the Warriors agreed to release him so they could sign him back, meaning the Cavs would essentially get nothing but cap relief for Jackson, or that the Cavs wanted a first rounder thrown in.

I’m more concerned about the Bobcats moving him on to the Cavs than anything.
