C Marcin Gortat missed Sunday's practice, sick.

"I don't think we'll have him tomorrow," Magic coach Stan Van Gundy said.

Jameer Nelson missed practice as well, but Van Gundy expects him to be available tomorrow. Van Gundy said Nelson tested negative for any kind of flu and has an upper respiratory infection. That's similar to what Matt Barnes played with earlier this season.

And finally, SG J.J. Redick, who tweaked his ankle yesterday, was having trouble moving laterally in practice.

All great news...

I played high school basketball games with the flu, I just needed longer blows. I don’t see how Gortat can’t go for 12 minutes.

It's not a dunk unless your hand makes contact with the rim. Yeah, I'm talkin' to you, "Superman..."

plus, Bass can do a more than serviceable spot at backup C. In fact, the Magic can go inside to him alot like with Dwight.

I heard that the reason why PHX and DEN players tend to stay healthier/recover faster from injuries during the season is because they use physical trainers instead of athletic trainers. I think management should look into doing that with this team.

Injuries so far this season:

Carter: Ankle
Anderson: Ankle
Barnes: Finger
Redick: Ankle
Howard: Shoulder injury

Random:

Pietrus: Flu
Barnes: Sickness
Bass: Flu
Nelson: Sickness
Gortat: Sickness

Exactly, and none of those injuries are serious. The full team should be back very soon.

I hope you're right

This team has enough to repeat a run in the Finals, hopefully we go all the way this season.

Sounds about right as far as the way the season has gone

No mistakes in the tango, darling. Not like life. Simple. That's what makes the tango so great. If you make a mistake, and get all tangled up, you just tango on.....

Normally, I would have gone to practice and filed a report but Sunday is my day of rest.

That being said, I wouldn’t be too concerned about the illness and injuries for the Orlando Magic. They’ve all been minor, so the team has to be feeling a little lucky in that regard. Just have to continue grinding away.

If you need anoyone to fill in for 3QC on a Sunday, I'll step in for ya and file a report from practice.

I’ll try not to do anything that will get the blogs press pass revoked ;-)
