Orlando Magic shooting guard Vince Carter, who sprained his left ankle on Friday night in his return to New Jersey to face the Nets, said he'll try to play Sunday against the Toronto Raptors -- his other former team
"It's OK," he said of the ankle. "We'll see how it feels in the morning. I hate missing games. I hope to be back."

If he was playing for the Nets, he would've been back in that game without a doubt.

So what do you think? Does he play tomorrow?

90% chance unless the swelling suddenly gets worse.
The myth that he doesn’t play hurt is completely unfounded. The games he missed in NJ were Tim Walsh’s call, not his.
Walsh is the Nets’ trainer, btw.

Me thinks
He’s playing tomorrow, c’mon it’s the Raptors. If there’s no swelling, he’ll be in uniform. If he says he’s okay, I don’t believe Stan will hold him back.

Toronto game's an interesting matchup...
Actually, Toronto’s interesting in general this year. They still have Chris Bosh — who I don’t like as much as other people do, but he’s still Chris Bosh. Bargnani shouldn’t be playing center, but he’s an intriguing player in general — kind of a larger, lesser Rashard Lewis. Calderon’s a great and criminally underrated point guard, and we all know Hedo.
I think what’s holding them back is two things: first of all, who’s going to play the defense? I don’t have the stats in front of me, but I don’t think of any of those guys as a plus defender. Second of all… those shooting guards. I’ll bet you Marco Belinelli takes over for Demar Derozan at some point… But I’ll also bet you neither one of them should be starting in the NBA.
Which means… well, to me, it means hey, why NOT play Vince? If he can do it, he’s not going to be so taxed by the opposition. And if we get out to a big lead, we just rest him — given Toronto’s lack of a legit shot-blocking threat, Dwight should be free to spread mayhem inside, thereby opening up high-percentage shots on the outside. I think Toronto might be a good team with the right breaks, but I also think they don’t match up well with the Magic.
He's currently two-thirds man, one-third amazing. Which, let's face it, is still a pretty good ratio.

I think the Raptors can, somewhat, hang with the Magic offensively but not defensively.
As long as Dwight takes the lead on defense like he did against the New Jersey Nets, all should be well.

Bargnani is a surprisingly good shot-blocker, believe it or not
But he obviously won’t be giving Dwight any trouble one-on-one.
On defense, we need to switch Ryan on Bargs and Dwight on Bosh to keep Dwight closer to the basket, because like you mentioned, they play Bargnani like Rashard.
Also, Antoine Wright is a decent wing defender.

Bargnani = 1.2 blocks per game last year.
That’s… not terrible. But personally, I think any 7-footer should be doing that. (It’s pretty comparable to Bosh’s numbers.)

He blocked Jameer yesterday with his mere size.

i think stan should sit him.
we can take,em.no reason to bring him back to fast. it was bad enough for him to leave the game so thats tells me its no small sprain( not that it looked real bad but he did lie their grabing his foot for a minute then hobbled off the court). long season ahead we need him in the playoffs not right now for the rapters. give him a game or two so hes good later.

It's a small sprain, there was barely any swelling and didn't really twist his ankle that much.

of course he wants to play and i,m sure if it did,nt hurt like hell when it happend he would have played on.but he did not he came out for the sec half. imo he should rest. but im not the boss. i hope he plays but if it hurts him being at 100% im not.

If an ankle pops, that doesn't mean it's anything severe.
Ultimately, it’s up to Vince on how he feels.

Again
If he feels that he can play, then I’d say Stan should let him.

I think he should play so he can drop 40 on a effed up ancle , if not I say we dress Stan in his place cuz he can probably shoot better than JJ and Pat can coach.
I know what Bo dont know.
