Orlando Magic Waive Morris Almond
The Orlando Magic have waived shooting guard Morris Almond, the team announced after its 117-87 win over the Indiana Pacers tonight. Almond signed a non-guaranteed deal on September 16th, hoping to make the final roster with a strong showing in training camp and in the preseason.
After cutting Almond, the Magic's roster stands at 14 players. Combo forward Linton Johnson III, who signed a non-guaranteed deal the same day Almond did, is among them.

Johnson is next? I wonder why they didn’t both get the axe. Is Linton this year’s J. Richardson….an extra body for practice? Mo Almond has gotten more floor time in the preseason. What gives?
LJ is bigger and a better defender I think. He is a lil more experienced too.

Correct, and he may be around as an emergency big man since Foyle is hurt.

Plus. he may come in handy w/Rashard out...
Even though we are stacked @ the four, we still could use another wing. Plus, he’s insurance against MP or someone tweaking an ankle.
He'll never see playing time, he's a "break glass in case of emergency" type of player.

Not a big deal. SG’s not exactly a position where we’re desparate for depth.
