"Phenomenal," Coach Stan Van Gundy said after the team's 139-107 rout [over the Sacramento Kings]. "Almost ridiculous."

Have to hand it to Stan, he's quite the quote machine.

We could literally have a post section in 3QC titled ’Stan’s Quotes’ or something and it’d be filled up pretty quickly.

Good point!!!!

SVG brought up a good point and that is that " They don’t live and die by the three". Lately, I’ve been reading some bloggers coin that phrase and apply it to the Magic. Sure we take alot of three’s but hek we make alot of three’s and when they don’t fall it’s not like we don’t have anybody to throw the rock into right???? When the three’s aren’t falling we’ve got dwight or Nelson, Turk, Lewis (sometimes), Lee, MP(when healthy) that drive to the basket. On top of that, We’ve got Lewis who is a very good post-up player and Turk can do it as well. It goes on and on, Battie for a mid-range jumper etc. etc… I just don’t get why anyone would EVER say “The Magic live and die by the three” i guess they still haven’t taken the time to watch this team……..

ALMOST?!?!

If 23 made threes is ALMOST ridiculous, what would be ACTUALLY ridiculous?!?

Yeah, that was something I was curious about myself.

I wonder what he deems completely ridiculous. Hmm.

Perhaps in Stan's world . . .

Completely ridiculous is when the rook misses a defensive assignment or Turk shoots a fadeaway jumpshot when he should have drove to the basket.

but I thought

SVG was going to be upset after the game that they gave up 100+ points?

Wow, am I seeing things?

SVG with a compliment? Just kidding, Stan’s the man…he’s my favorite Magic coach so far. He knows how to get the guys to listen without being such a total jerk about it. Sure he yells from the bench all the time, but the results are coming.

.. and the team knows he does it because he cares.

That’s why they respond so positive to him. The Magic know that he sees greatness in them, and he’s simply trying to get it out of them.

yeah and if you watch vidoes of practice (inside the magic), he can be just as obnoxious with compliments.

During the game we only see one side of him. He has a pretty good sense of humor as well.
