Jason Williams, Apparently Calling it a Day
I remember when the Magic were actively pursuing Williams to back-up Jameer Nelson, but eventually passed on him to sign Anthony Johnson instead. I guess Otis Smith and company knew what they were doing, because Williams retired out of the blue today. Weird.

That sucks. Quality player who would’ve made a great backup to Jameer. Glad he won his Ring too. Wonder if it was something to do with being unhappy with where he was, or the entire league?

Maybe he felt like he couldn’t compete at a high level anymore. If my timeline isn’t totally screwed up, he signed with L.A. after Brand left, so it’s not like he feels misled or anything.
I’ll miss him. He was always a blast to watch, even when he curbed his wild dribbling and started playing more fundamentally sound ball.
