Marcin Gortat article
This article/interview was sent to me via e-mail from my brother, but it is posted on the Orlando Magic Zone message boards. It's lengthy, but a great read. I've always like Gortat because he makes the most of his playing time on the floor and seems like a good sport on the nights he is glued to the bench in a suit.
It is hard not to admire him after reading this interview. He has no ego, works hard, and is dedicated to the game of basketball. He looks up to Dwight Howard a lot and considers him his mentor, but he has his own goals and ambitions for the future:
On the other hand I realize I'll have to leave Orlando. I simply have no intention of being Dwight's substitute for the rest of my career. And I'm never gonna get in front of him in the rotation.
One of my dreams is to become the best Polish player ever. The closer dreams are to gain a strong position as a backup in Orlando, medal at European Championship then a spot in the starting lineup in the NBA. It's plenty hard work.
Be sure to check out what else Gortat has to say!
