Tonight's Game: Orlando Magic vs. Chicago Bulls

48-29
30-47
Amway Arena

Probable starters:
Jameer Nelson PG Kirk Hinrich
Maurice Evans SG Larry Hughes
Hedo Turkoglu SF Luol Deng
Rashard Lewis PF Tyrus Thomas
Dwight Howard C Joakim Noah
Season series:
31 Dec 2007: Magic 112, Bulls 110
15 Jan 2008: Magic 112, Bulls 88

Both combatants tonight are coming off inexcusable losses. The Magic fell to the Knicks on Sunday night, and the Bulls dropped a game to the Heat last night. Losing to the Knicks is bad, but to the Heat? Well, we certainly shouldn't have trouble with the Bulls then.

Not so fast. Bulls guards Larry Hughes and Ben Gordon have each scored 40 points against us this season, although Hughes was still a Cavalier when he did that. Still, they've given us problems in the past, and we can't overlook them.

Dwight Howard will play despite taking an elbow from Marcin Gortat in practice yesterday. If Brian Schmitz had his way, J.J. Redick would play 20-to-25 minutes tonight. I wouldn't bet on it.

Mike From Illinois will have the recap for you. Go Magic.

Good God, do these guys need glasses?? Are they wrestling as a part of their warm-ups? Boxing? Kung-fu?

The Pistons lose to the Knicks, the Bulls to the Heat...see, we're not the only ones falling asleep at the wheel! Let's just hope the Bulls don't whoop our butts in an attempt to save face :|

Maybe

But Noah seems like the only guy on that team who cares anymore. Gordon and Deng will be free agents this summer, but there's nothing they can do to improve their value; they sunk it this season.

The Fans

Hell, if Stan is so concerned about giving the fans what they want than do what Schmitz says and give the guy his 20-25 min! That is what I want to see, along with the Polish Hammer and Augie filling in for Lewis instead of Garrity.

Re: The Fans
Yup. The "WE WANT J.J.!" chants will probably be even louder down the stretch, so it should be hard for Stan to resist putting him in. That was his argument for keeping the heavy hitters in the game, that the fans pay to see them. Well, lots of fans pay to see J.J. too. I'd wager he's the second-most popular jersey at the Amway Arena on game nights, which is no small feat considering he's only behind Dwight Howard.

Turk's jersey

Why do you think JJ's jersey is so popular?

Re: Turk's jersey

Because he's more popular with the ladies.

I don't see too many Turk jerseys in the stands. The merchandise booths never have any, and I can't tell if it's because they're on backorder or because they've sold out. Either way, I see more J.J. jerseys than Turk jerseys whenever I'm in Amway.

More often than not its girls wearing JJ's jersey at the arena.

Turk Turk Turk

I'd wear Turk's jersey without hesitation. In fact, I've been pestering my dad to "surprise" me with one as an early b-day present. Eight months early, whatever. But I would be very proud to wear #15.

But you all are right--JJ's jerseys are all over the place in the arena (on women AND men). Personally, I don't see the appeal, but then again I've never been that impressed with JJ.

And now I must run and hide for I have blasphemed.
