Welcome to Third Quarter Collapse!

A little over six months ago, I started the original Third Quarter Collapse over at Blogspot. At the time, I stated my purpose in this way:

The purpose of this blog is simple: to comment on the past, present, and future of the Orlando Magic. I feel as though I am qualified to comment for the following reasons:

  • I have lived in Orlando my entire life.
  • I have previously been a Magic season ticketholder.
  • I remember Danny Schayes.

Those reasons, more or less, make me just as reputable as, say... Brian Schmitz. But qualifications aren't really necessary; this is, after all, the internet.

Times have changed, but the mission is the same: I still love the Magic and I still love covering them. It's a  pleasure to now be a part of SBNation and its great network of sports bloggers.

The site's name should make sense to Magic fans. It seems to me that the Magic have blown more halftime leads in their franchise history than most other teams, and the franchise has a history of not coming up big when it counts. Yes, the name accentuates the negative, but be assured that I am not here to bash the Magic; rather, I'm here to examine them honestly and with as little bias as possible.

It's been an exciting offseason and the team has a bright future. I look forward to being a part of it.

Welcome to the Nation

I was just thinking the other day, it would be nice to have an Orlando Magic Blog on SBNation and walla like Magic, here it is!!!

I've been a Magic fan all my life and have shared a little bit of that fandome with the Charlotte Bobcats as of late (i can't help it their 90% Tar Heels, hah)

At any rate, welcome to SBNation and I'm sure I will be on here like crazy .... maybe you could make this Magic Fan interested in the NBA again .... GooD LucK!! and welcome aboard!!!

Hi!

Thanks for your kind words. Orlando and Tampa seem to have a rivalry going on (UCF vs. USF, for example), but I think we'll get along nicely.

Welcome, dude

It's about time we got a real Southeast rivalry going on SB Nation.  I'm expecting to see a lot of you, and your team, this season (in a figurative sense, obviously).

Pradaman,

It'll be nice to have a friendly rivalry, yes. Most publications have the Magic and Wizards duking it out for top honors in the Southeast. We'll certainly see how it plays out.

Of course!

I'll definitely keep reading PatB. It's one of the RSS feeds I subscribe to, so I won't miss any of it.

Aloha

Welcome to the roundtable (or whatever it is we call it) I'm sure you'll enjoy it here.

But you must incorporate that Rony Seikaly jersey in here somewhere.  It's not an option.

Free Rony!

I'll talk to Ziller or Matt about bringing over the Seikaly jersey. It's autographed, too.
